At the request of many, I've tweaked the mobile skin for the forum. When you log into VolNation from a phone, blackberry or pda device you should see a stripped down version of the forum as shown in the image below. Please use this and let me know of any feedback that could make it more user friendly. More of us access the site from our phone so I want to make it as easy as possible for everyone. Also, the 'quote' feature now works when you reply to a post.

i played around with it a little bit earlier tonight. i can't tell if i'm signed in or not.

did you take away access to the User CP?

otherwise, i'll have much more time to play around with it at work tomorrow.

edit: i guess you're weren't done with it when i was on it. looks good now.

Yep, I've been tweaking it some tonight and just finished. The login will be at the bottom of the page if you are not already logged in. I may need to make that more clear.

I removed your other post, otherwise I would have to kill you. :p

I was fooling around to see what it looked like on my desktop and when I clicked on the portable version I couldn't get back to the normal version. I had to delete cookies to get back again. I was lost in the desert and scared.... :cray:
Edit: the login screen wasn't there when I went into the shadow nation.

I should have warned you. There is no skin selector so if you choose the mobile skin on your desktop you must:

1. Press the back button on your browser until you get to a fully skinned page. Then choose the skin at the bottom.
2. Go to your user cp options and change the default skin back to default.
3. Delete cookies.

The above only applies if you are wanting to preview this skin on your desktop. None of this will happen if you are viewing from your phone/pda.

Also, there will be no login box because you only changed the skin. You are already logged in. :)

Thanks for the response VolTSX23.

I'm open to any feedback since I can only see how it looks and functions on my phone. I realize different phones may have issues.

Testing from a Dash. Much better than the old one. Easier to read.

Thanks for the extra effort, sir. :salute:

I don't use the mobile all that much, but it's still appreciated for when I have to.

I find myself using it more and more when I am away from home. A lot of people tell me they use it so I suppose it's gaining popularity.

Looks good from my phone. I'm starting to use it a bit more. Like having the quote function.

Couple questions: is there an edit func anywhere on this & when I hit reply will it always quote that post?

Is there a way to mark all posts read? Also, I can't get a reply box unless I quote a post and then delete it.

I use it when I am sitting in lines for basketball games. I won't need to do that anymore after the So Carolina game, however. Very sad...

Good points guys. I definitely need a reply button somewhere at the bottom that you can use without quoting.

I probably won't add an edit button because it just would add too many links to scroll through on the page if we had that for each post..... unless of course everyone just really thinks we need it.

I will see if I can add a 'mark all post read' link up in the navigation area at the top.

It should be at the bottom of the page. If not, it likely means that you are already logged in. Try clicking on the user cp link and see what happens.
