after kiffen left to usc... someone here posted kiffen's new "phone number" but it was a fake to a number that recorded the calls... some VN southern cal chick fan called the number to warn kiff that VN had posted his phone number... hilarious

Stud was doing the same thing as young except stud also was doing sexual stuff. He and young were former friends who just cheered for rival schools

Anybody got a historical listing of leading forums down through the years. Was part of the ole Rivals and Scout boards but got started on GRIDSCAPE! Chuck ran a good early ship. Had to change my handle during one of his format transitions due to my AMaVOL moniker not having 8 characters and since I was living in Guntersville at the time……

Loved the checkerboard left border and the WWJD encryption in those early days. Ate with some of the leaders at the pregame meals at the old Bel Air Grill across from the airport. Now a Mexican restaurant and I moved just a few miles away in 06’. Wow…..20 years ago.

So let me get this straight. Young was paying people from Memphis to go to Bama and got caught. TennesseeStud was doing the same thing, except he wanted people to go to Tennessee, and he was gay/sleeping with these recruits. Stud and Young were former friends who were just competing to get guys to go to their schools, but Stud added a sexual element to it. This is crazy?

Was TennesseeStud on here flexing about all this?

Yes and yes he would always brag about his “parties” on here. How much food and alcohol and what he gave people. Just a weirdo all around

I few of the originals went off and did their own thing if I remember right. Your 3 years before me but you been on here 20 years now and me 17.

I think @Freak gives us gold watches at thirty years or something.

I know I got sent a nice set of kitchen knives at my 15 years anniversary. What you get?

Going by Freak’s profile, Vol Nation was created in fall of 2003, so I am confused about how some UT fan was here bragging about being a part of that. The FBI was involved and people went to prison, so I have my doubts about someone confessing their involvement on a message board after the fact.. The Logan Young guy died of a freak “accident” shortly after getting out of jail. That’s not really something to pretend to be a part of.

@Rickyvol77 - Please clarify?

Joined up November 2005 and it's been a ride for sure.
It's been great though having a place where we could all laugh, weep, give our opinions, thoughts, and just generally help each other through life.

Some of my favorites have been 'Grumors', Rod Wilks. Paul Baine, plane tracking, trash can, white board kicking, a'ight, and early on the 'Is it time' that followed the 2005 season...

I’ve been visiting this place since about 2008 or 2009. I don’t know if I had another account or if I just checked forums without an account. I didn’t really get involved until I made this account.

Too numerous to count. Seriously, being a Vol fan since birth, joining the military, traveling the world, some places not great , it was always great to have volnation to go to for VOL news. I've cherished it all. From Gridscape to now, I've enjoyed being able to get Vol news wherever I"m at.

Before I joined and was just lurking, the late Hatvol made what might have been the best post in the history of the board. After Arian Foster had yet another fumble disaster against, I believe UCLA in 2008, he posted, “Foster: It’s Australian for fumble.” I still haven’t come across a better post in the nearly 20 years since.

It started with old Volquest/Gridscape/Rivals during the first days of the internet. Like 1997ish
