For those who have been around from the beginning, what are your most memorable recollections? I believe the site began in 2003.

What were the biggest obstacles getting it going?

What were some of the most unhinged moments and topics?

I joined in 2011 but followed since the Lane Kiffin hiring. I remember the site blowing up following the whole Kiffin hiring and the most unhinged topic was a year later with his resignation. Does he hold the record with the most hits, opinions, etc?

Would love to read others thoughts.

I started with RecruitNix around 2001. My first post was a fairly benign comment about frustration with Fulmer. Being my first post, I was immediately chided for being a Bama troll. I didn’t know what a troll in that sense. O quickly learned that to say anything less than enthusiastic about Fulmer got you placed as a NegaVol and anything positive labeled you as a Sunshine Pumper. While the names and loyalties have changed, those terms are still with us. United we stand!

I do think he was a true Vol fan, but he was a scumbag who utilized underage prostitution with both players and agents and hosted "parties" to entice young players into trouble

There was a poster named hatvol who had a knowledge of basketball that was unparalleled (that is not sarcasm, this guy knew his stuff). He started a thread after every game giving his impressions on the game. His posts were a must read for basketball fans. He also had a brutal sense of humor and would throw out some devastating insults to anyone who tried to argue with him. Other posters would try to insult him back and he would bury them, What sticks out in my mind the most is several other members of volnation that worshiped the ground he walked on and would cheer him on and attack anyone who disagreed with him. Think of any movie with a bully, the bully always has a crew of sycophants that followed him around and always sought his approval. It was like that.
