I can't be the only one who is still confused on some things at Bristol.

I figured it would be nice to have a central place to get some questions answered and gather some ideas for the game/weekend.

Hopefully enough people reply to make this thread worthwhile.

As people answer questions or post information I will add it to the first post so that VN members can have an easy place to get the facts quickly.

Where are the UT sections?

Where are the UT tailgating lots/camps?
All-American camp (just south of the stadium) is the official Tennessee camp.

Where can fans get parking/camp passes?

Try to AirBnb a really big house close to the racetrack. That's the best way for a ton of people to travel together.

My inlaws live in Bristol and normally rent their house for races. They are going to this game however, but I'm sure there are other people who do the same thing. Look on VRBO.

PrimeSports will be running a chartered bus from Knoxville 5-6 hours before the game to Bristol. Back to Knoxville after the game.

Warriors Path is in Kingsport, not Kingston, but this is a really good idea for those planning to camp. In normal driving conditions, it is 30 minutes to the Speedway.

Because it is a state park, the camping rates won't be jacked up for gameday weekend. They also have a golf course, a disc golf course, swimming, biking, etc.

The main campground is full, but there are spots in the overflow camping area:

Also worth noting there are plenty of alternatives to parking some with even closer proximity to the track. We use lady's equipment company for all the races.

I did today also. I did several years ago at my 1st spring race and liked the experience. The price is a little high if you want put up a tailgating tent extra spot $50.00 but very nice location, porta potty and wifi is pretty nice.

In response to suggestions, I found nothing available at airbnb or VRBO.

We are in ladys. Can you tell me how far is it to the stadium (track)? Any idea how long it takes to clear traffic? Don't have any idea if the attendance will be >or < a normal race day, so that may affect it.....just thought you might have a crystal ball out:). Thanks.

0.8 miles.
The cup race has often been a true sell out and would not be surprised if the game is also given the historical meaning.
Guys, plan to walk a little to help clear SOME traffic issues or better yet - just plan on making it a very late night. Hang for a while after the game and socialize. Good friends and atmosphere always beats sitting in a car yelling in vain at the cars in front of you.

Take a tent, a grill, and a cooler. Leave Sunday morning.

Atmosphere will be great. Everything else will be a nightmare

The view will not be ideal but the atmosphere will be more than a fair trade off. As far as everything else, Nascar fans pull this off twice a year and make it a blast.
Just saying, if Vol fans are unable to figure out how to make this a wonderful event, I will not put one ounce of blame on the venue.

I think it's funny how many members of this board have complained about this game/experience. I thought this was what we all wanted?

In all seriousness, having been to several BMS races, I would recommend a really good set of binocs....no kidding, and planning on spending the night. Warriors Path State Park in Kingston is relatively close.....about 20 miles away. If you don't get trashed at the game and we are pounding VT, leave at the start of the 4th, get back to your campsite, party like it's 1999, and go home on Sunday.

Personally, I think it is a joke. People that go will wind up complaining about everything. You are literally going to be sitting so far away from the field for a mediocre seat that you will need at least 10x binocs.

However, I think that it will be historic and if UT/VT can get enough people to go to fill that place up, more power to you. I will be watching from my lazy boy (more than likely standing and screaming at the TV) and drinking craft beer that will be half as much as you will be paying for beer at the "stadium". Rock on with your bad self!
