I guess I just dont understand this concept of fan loyalty. It is downright puritanical! It is sport and it is entertaining and fun to have a team to pull for. When your team never wins meaningful games, it is not fun. Does anyone even remember the last really satisfying tennessee win? Why should I show blind support to a team that is not entertaining to watch, and only frustrating? Its not like life and death, or the welfare of the state of tennessee is on the line here. What's with all the with us or against us crap lately. When the team wins it is fun, when they don't it is not. If I can spend my sat afternoon watching an exciting game by a team from a school I attended I will, if every weekend I get to watch them lose by 39 points to a rival, where is the fun in that? I would rather spend that time with the family. What does honor, loyalty have to do with sports at all? I understand the ferver of college football and like that about it, but the constant pedantic lectures about "real" fans gets old.
