The UT Alumni Association kind of does what you are talking about. I know of one in Raliegh, NC that watches every game at a Bar & Grill in downtown Raliegh named Hi-Five. I watched a game there last year because all the channels in the hotel had ACC Regional coverage.

I'm not a UT Alumni but they didn't care as long as I was a Vol fan. It was really cool too. Everyone there has some kind of association with East Tennessee, so finding things to talk about wasn't hard.

The only thing is watching the game around other people. There was this one guy that would piss and moan everytime a flag was thrown against Tennessee, even when a replay showed an obvious hold/clip/infraction..etc....

That was the only down fall.

I'm not positive but I would bet that the Charlotte area has a UT Alumni Association Chapter that does something similar.

thank you! there is one in charlotte...the bar sucks, however (or at least the past one did)...we are wanting to host parties...just a friendly get together of like-minded people!

i'd go with something simple like "charlottevolfans.com," otherwise people aren't likely to remember it or find it easily. also might ensure that if people google "charlette vol fans" it is the first link.

I hear ya.

The one in Raliegh is nice. They have a secluded room that is called "The SEC Room" so it's just a bunch of Tennessee fans with 4 TV's on the game.

Plus everything on the menu is 5 bucks (going along with the Hi-5 theme) and they have all kinds of imports and premium beers. You know if you like to get into other things than what Coors, Anheisuer Busch, and Miller are offering.

If your party idea doesn't pan out I suggest going there one weekend. It's really worth the drive which is what 2 hours?

I had thought, at one point, that it would be cool to have an alumni forum where each chapter could have their own subforum.

I once saw a vols alumni assocation at a pool bar I go to in manhattan beach. Must have been 15-20 people there for the tenn-bama game. Of course a week later a bunch of LSU folks were watching a game there and played their friggin fight song during every comercial. I found that rather annoying while I was watching some pac-10 football, playing some pool, and drinking some beer.

qcncvols.com

For Queen City, North Carolina

(Insert XTennesseeX avatar)

yeah I was thinking qcvols.com would be cool

stu, let me know if you figure something out, I'm always down for getting together... And I agree, I didn't much like the Hickory Tavern off Harris Blvd, thought it was much better when the alumni assoc held it in Ballantyne at Fox&Hound, of course I live in south Charlotte so it made the drive about a half hour shorter. My fiance and I are getting ready to move to Ft. Mill (october), which makes us even closer...
