Besides “well duh”, Darrin Kirkland is one of 10 players mentioned as being the most likely to benefit from a coaching change.

10 college players who will benefit most from coaching changes

A number of Tennessee defensive players are going to see their roles/responsibilities ratcheted up in 2018, but none more than Kirkland. Pruitt will bring with him the scheme Alabama employed a year ago, and few players have more responsibility than the MIKE linebacker in Pruitt’s system. Serving as both signal caller and vocal leader, a ton is placed upon that position. But if healthy, Kirkland is an ideal fit there.

One thing (among many) about, now our defense is there is a crap ton of stuff going on before the snap... Everyone in the secondary excluding the Corners are calling strength, bubbles (setting the front), Bingo, Cut, Cone, Meg, MOD, (all secondary adjustments... That not scratching the surface) not to mention route recognition based on cue of #2 or formation.
Also, looking for tip offs of what the offense does on certain situations to give you a head start as to where to be or what to expect...

I thought they gave the checks to the safety’s. Nigel Warrior could be an early entry if he figures all this out.

As long as we figure out how to set the edge when they send motion from our right to left. Seems anytime the cleared our our right side the back would fake inside then break it to the outside for a 20-30 yard run. Fixing that will go a long ways in my book.

That’s why the staff is recruiting these gigantic corners. They are required to get their noses in the dirt and plug that hole on the outside.

They give safeties a Rita Linda check LB's a Larry Ricky check... Basically just rotation checks.. That's not even talking about te checks within the defensive play.

Though the verbiage is different, I assure you all college defenses use very similar concepts. Pattern Match (coverage) and matching Personnel Groups is just as prevalent as the Zone Read or spread offense.

I am not saying they don't and trust me I know they are prevalent ... However, the adjustment side of the defense is on another level as far as Saban's defense goes... Saban and Brown (michigan) are tops where that is concerned... Now that includes Georgia and Us.
