If Arkansas can somehow get it together and upset Texas, we would(should at least) have them blocked out behind us in the pecking order Even if we were to lose to Georgia. If both UTs finish 10-2 in that scenario, we would have the exact same losses, both have road wins over Vandy and we would have a win over Bama while their best win would be A&M.This week is straightforward, everyone in the top 12 or so. Lot of cupcake games this week though, so realistically Arkansas beating Texas and Kansas beating BYU would be huge. Florida beating LSU would knock them out of the SEC and playoff race and boost our FL win.
kind of outside the box, but keep an eye on Kansas vs BYU. A BYU loss here should solidify the Big 12 as a 1-bid league. Kansas is better than their record, and BYU is only favored by a couple points. Other than that, not much realistically can go our way outside of our game this week. Next week we'll have some games to watch that could help us out.
In conference:
We'd like Arky to knock off Texas
South Carolina could put Mizzou out of it misery, for good (see what I did there?
And OOC:
It'd be nice for Virginia to surprise Notre Dame (but don't count on it)
Boston College taking out SMU wouldn't be a bad thing.
A Wisconsin upset of Oregon would be fun.
None of those are super important to us, the Arky-Texas game probably comes closest. But they would all contribute in small ways to clearing the field above us.
I don't think there's anything the ACC can do at this point to get 2 teams in.I think both the ACC and Big12 will end up with only 1 bid unless some B1G or SEC teams totally fall apart.
Our best hope is Notre Dame losing another game. Arkansas beating Texas would help as well.
