Vol Calls start Wednesday August 25th but does anybody know why the change was made to Wednesday?

I think I am going to make a new football season resolution to listen to this weekly. Will be a good mid-week refresher.

When I stop and think about it, Wednesday actually makes a lot of sense...

1) You have time after the game (win or lose) to let the "hot heads" calm down. So you get rid of a lot of those "Billy Bob the Hilljack" calls wondering why didn't Coach put in such and such and go for it on 4th and 7 on the 35...

2) You're closer to Saturday so you have a better chance of getting your fan base fired up, and keeping them fired up, for the upcoming game!!!

I say nice move Coach!!!

I think you put more thought into it than he did....
My guess is that Monday nights he watches "Two and a Half Men"

Ok, here's the deal:
Volcalls moves from Monday to Wednesday for football season. Coach Dooley will be on for a longer period than in the past as it takes on a bit of a different format.

The Big Orange Coundown show that's been on Thursdays for the last two years will move to Monday, replacing VolCalls. They will review the weekend's games and also have guests from other sports.

The plan was, but I'm not positive it ended up this way, to return the "VolCalls" name to the Monday night show after football season, since basketball is typically broadcast on Wednesdays.

The only thing you'll get out of Vol Calls is a good laugh. People call in with the dumbest questions that could easily be answered by the internet in 10 seconds of searching.

I'm pretty sure that most Vol Calls callers had to walk to a neighbor's house to make the phone call. The internet is years away for them.

Yea maybe I'm giving them too much credit because I just assume living in 2010 that most people have access to the internet. :birgits_giggle:

My guess is that the folks running VolCalls found out Jerry from Bull's Gap got a second shift job at the mill and will be working on Wednesdays now.....

Pardon my ignorance but I have been gone from Tennessee for a long time ... can I get Vol Calls on WLAC out of Nashville? Because I can pick up that in Baton Rouge after dark.
