The University of Tennessee baseball team will be featured on national television six times during the 2011 regular season as it added four more broadcasts on Friday with the announcement of the official Southeastern Conference television package, the second under the league's landmark 15-year agreement with ESPN.

Excellent to see the VOls after a winning season will be shown on National TV in critical games.

Welcome to the board, firestorm. It's always great to have more baseball fans post here.

We agree to disagree.

2009 The big problem is they played terrific in the last series showing what could have been. A losing record.
In 2010 there was multiple games that even though they lost they could have won. Showed what could have been if they played terrific in both the first, and second half not just the second half. Even though they did not make the SEC Tournament the situation of close but no cigar of making the division tournament seem's similar to how NFL teams have a awful first half then play exellent in the 2nd half but don't make the playoffs because of needing help, and losing to many first half critical games.

In 2011 if they can play fantastic baseball from the start of the regular season to the end of the regular season they can be a terrific team.
They were a base hit from beating the Crimson Tide, and likely could have beat them in game 3. They will be playing with a chip on their shoulder.
I think in their Senior years Josh Liles, Matt Duffy are going to have fantastic years.

Anyone think we'll be better than we were last year? I hope so, I hope we can at least pull a winning SEC record.

Also, one more question...I'm not one to say "keep all the local kids home", but Farragut is loaded with talent. Is it that hard to get them to sign with UT?

Yes I do. With their first 15 games of the season at home they need to get off to a fantastic start winning 10-12 of their first 15.

Wow Firestorm...you must REALLY love mediocre at best baseball

EVERY team has patches of games where they play well...we under Raleigh have never done it consistently enough

You have to be a player, coach, or relative of one of those

Yes we will, because your description of the last 2 seasons is a great job of spinning.

I'm not trying to spin anything with the last two seasons. I think they have made progress you don't so progress like beauty is in the eye of the beholder.

Better division record than the year before, a winning season for the first time in a long time, and the last series of the season was to get into the SEC Tournament not for pride like in 2009.

I'm not related to Raleigh.

Last season it was not mediocore baseball. 1st half was bad , 2nd half terrific but still they could not win enough critical division games.

The progress has been marginal at best. This year has to be an NCAAT year or bust for Raliegh, no excuses.

Win 10-12 of their first 15 games, play fantastic baseball in the first half, second half, and don't get off to a poor start in division games.
Only 5 more days and the Vols will be starting the season.

Don't let everyone bring you down firestorm. I like your optimism. All teams are undefeated and tied for first place this time of year, right? :)

Post often.
