Since being hired as the head coach of the Tennessee baseball team in June, Dave Serrano and his staff have worked tirelessly to put together their first recruiting class. The culmination of those efforts came on Thursday as the Volunteers announced that 13 student-athletes have signed National Letters of Intent to join the program for the 2012-13 academic year.

I'm actually considering going back over to LNS this spring. Hope Serrano does well.

This is how it is done at a high level folks. He will lose some to the draft, however, that is normal in all of the better programs. It's the rep you get for going after the best. A lot of the recruits know each other from amateur summer leagues and camps. Not much different than football or basketball. Go where you get the best development and with who has the best connections at the pro level. Wish Hamilton understood that in football.

It's also encouraging to see how many of these guys were recruited by SEC and other major conference schools.

Doesn't Serrano realize that Tyler Smith was on the basketball team at one time? They have Tyler Smith as a RHP. I hope this is not an NCAA violation...... Does he even have any eligibilty remaining????
