Im not sure what games I will be at. My first game this year will be my first game at Neyland EVER, so it will be interesting.
My kid is a freshman, and we will be going up for a couple games. But if I know where this thing is at, I would love to stop by and say hello.
We do this at Michigan State (I know some of you are tired of hearing about that place from me) anyways, the Red Cedar Message Board (spartantailgate.com) has a tailgate for every game. Usually gets pretty interesting. 30-40 people for some of the better games, I believe they have topped that for some.
Here is my advice as a veteran of these things:
1) make a "pot Luck list" so you know who is bringing what
2) someone needs a power inverter so you can hangout and watch "gameday". Hopefully that "someone" also has a dish and a TV. This makes life very cool.
3) Coordinate with each other to get enough tables to put the potluck stuff on.
4) you need a VERY OBVIOUS MARKER so that people will know it is your tailgate, otherwise the nervous ones will pass you by. It is kind of geekish to walk around looking for a message board tailgate
k) you are all family. I have people in my family that I dont agree with all the time, but I always treat them well in public.
Someone needs to make a VolNation Flag. Bigdang flag on a bigdang pole. Sherbert orange with creme lettering!! Then there is no guesswork as to who you are, and it is great advertising for the site. Trust me, that is a good thing.
I hope I can make it to one of these. I will try my hardest. You will be surprised how well you like some people in person, that you dont really like on the board. Some of you might even find that you like. . ME. :hi: (that might be stretching it a bit far)
Keep me informed, please.
