Who's in?

I don't mind coordinating it, but assuming we go to the chicken bowl, I don't know much about Atlanta. In 2007 for the SECCG, we stayed in midtown and rode marta, then went to jock's and jills (I think), but it was way too crowded to meet/find people, so I'd rather do a tailgate.

Also looking for suggestions for a post game New Years Eve celebration...?

Yeah I was wondering post game what downtown ATL will be like with the Peach Drop going on. Is the location where the drop takes place close to the dome? I am sure it will be CRAZY down there!

There is a parking deck between the dome, Phillips Arena, & the World Congress Center. It is a multi-level deck that goes about 5 stories under ground. But on the top is a nice area between the 3 venues that would probably be perfect for a large tailgate. The other option is in Centennial Olympic Park. It is directly across Marietta Street from the dome.

My wife and I may very well be there. I would be interested in a tailgate.

well I'm coming to Atl but we may be dragging around a couple VT fans with us. I'll make them buy a round of drinks to make up for it

The parking deck seems like a good idea down by the dome, or we could all ride Marta back and forth through ATL until game time and just party there. LOL.

If you go to google maps & type in Centennial Olympic Park, Atlanta, GA: you can see where the park is in correlation to the dome. Additionally, if you pan left and zoom in on the dome, you can see the green space on top of the parking deck I was talking about that is between the dome & Phillips Arena. The only thing about these 2 area is that we may have to get a permit from the City of Atlanta if it is going to be a huge tailgate. I can check on that if y'all are interested in these spots. Otherwise, just let me know where. I'll be there where ever we are!

I know of the deck you speak of. The best part is easy access to the highway when u leave. As far as in the deck, i dont know about tailgating but from what i remember, there is a large green space above it/next to it. It is also right next door to the dome. The cnn center is also 1/4 mile down the same road. It is a large indoor food court essentially but they do have nice facilities( restrooms for the ladies) and a great selection of cold beer on tap. I think a 32 oz is $5-6. The center has tons of tables but they can be hard to come across on game day. Hope this helps
I am still figuring out new years plans, they will be changed if our boys are coming into town!

That's providing my boy Volcowboy comes through with the tickets. He always does though! LOL

Charlie, tickets are looking good, should know for sure on Saturday.

That's my dog!!!! Let me know how much to get you! I can pick y'all up that afternoon & we can all ride over to the Doraville MARTA station to ride down if y'all want. Or we can take the 250 downtown. Just cut me off in time so as to avoid the DUI. LOL
