Vitello talks about working relationship with Pruitt

We are not hiring an OC. Pruitt bought a copy of Saban's OC training manual at Barnes & Noble. He will be immersed in it till spring. Bammer seems to whip out world beater OCs every year, thought He'd give it a try.

It will happen when it happens so there's no need to hurry on my account. Pruitt knows what he is doing and I trust him and Fulmer with this program. Feels like waiting all year for Santa for some of you kids. lol

Ive read many, I mean MANY threads on this OC search and read alot of posts from people complaining about. Great another post about the “OC”. How about if you are tired of seeing them. How about don’t open them and then post a complaint about them. I personally like seeing what info if any is out there and frankly, other persons insights. Not complaints.
But in this case,. The OP's statement was literally the EXACT same statement being discussed at length in another OC thread.

I'm sorry but if they're bringing absolutely no new info because they don't care enough to see what other people think?
They believe them saying it is more important because... it's them saying it?

For those of us actually following the search, it's nice to open new threads with real info, not just an overvalued opinion of their self importance.

I forget. How many P5 programs has Pruitt rebuilt into title contenders? I think that how we finish with the current recruiting class is going to make or break CJP here. Butch didn't leave a lot and last year's class was lackluster. I'm sure there will be a lot of bickering about the 2019 class because the ranking is not going to be as high as we should expect from an elite recruiting staff. We need line depth but we also need elite skill players. Hopefully, CJP can deliver.

This hire is going to be like finding an extra Christmas present a few days after Christmas. All of a sudden you get excited! Oh boy! We missed one! The wrapping paper looks nice, its big, so it has to be good right?! You tear into it and find a picture of Will Friend..getting blown up by Leonard Little as he streaks in for a sack..you aren't sure if you should be happy or disappointed..

Agree we have no proof of the future results.

Possibly disagree on recruiting. Depends on your take. We need elite classes to reach the ultimate goal but we're not getting those until we produce results.

*If Pruitt is "the guy" will take top 15 classes to win some, which will result in better classes to follow. We've been too far down, for too long, to sell a vision.

I believe that CJP wanted Freeze and it got nixed by ADPF or BOT. I believe that they then thought they had a fish caught, probably Yurcich, but he slipped off the hook. Now it's a complete reset.
If PF and JP don’t get this figured out and get the right guy in here both coach and OC could be elsewhere after 2020....

There’s no easy way to spin this. What?! Every other school loses an oc and hires another, but CJP has found a better way! Hire him, or her, but don’t tell anyone for a month, or two!!! And that’s supposed to be good? It ain’t...

It's too tempting not to open them. Then, there's the big letdown afterward. Freak, I sure miss that ignore thread feature.

You could very well be right. But in my opinion I dont think any of the big names were even made an offer because they dont run the same offensive scheme that Pruitt does. Pruitt wants an offense that controls the clock, smashmouth run football with occasional downfield passes. He will get someone that will run his offense.i am not knocking pruitt's offensive scheme. And this is just my opinion.i think we could have hired freeze or briles either one, if he had really wanted them.

If he's still stuck on running that type of offense we should seriously go ahead and get a search committee started up because he will never have the years it would take to build the roster talent to a point where he can run that type of offense and hope to win against good to great SEC defenses. I hope that CJP learned something from this year and is ready to let someone maximize the talent on hand rather than force a system on guys who are not suited to run it at a high level.
