If only VTdom had 20 posts. Lets see if this takes off or not. So what do you guys think of this game?

Haha i feel famous.
I haven't had a chance to watch much UT football this year. I hope to watch some games on 360 once exams pass.
How has UT's defense played this year? I could look up stats but they can be so misleading. I know y'all played UF and Bama close (and should've beaten bama) so i know you have a good team.

Dline is stout, weak depth at tackles. LBs are very VERY thin and as weak as we have had in some time. Secondary is as good as it gets. Should be able to keep VT around 20-24 points IMO.

A good site to watch Tennessee games from this past season.

Fortunately for us passing isn't our strong suit. What are your strengths on O?

O line we start two walk ons but their not bad at all, Crompton came on strong after the Auburn game and he has been above average since, Hardesty is our work horse and he is very good. We really only have two WR that you need to worry about thats Gerald Jones and Denarius Moore

I have seen about every VT game this year and have been to one my best friends go there... they look impressive but its hard to tell because of the competition. You played one great game and that was against Miami. Your receivers are nothing special and Tyrod is not accurate. You are fast on D but teams have put up huge numbers on you running the ball. Special Teams is a key Tennessee is awful they do nothing good and kick and punt poor. We all know about beamer ball so if Tennessee can avert a special teams blunder I see us winning. VT is a downhill running team which gives Tennessee no trouble. If you guys install some speed option with Tyrod and Ryan Williams you could be very successful... All in All Tennessee hasnt lost the turnover battle in like 2 months, and VT wins a lot of games because teams hurt themselves... If Crompton is efficient, and Special Teams arent dreadful Tennessee should win by 7plus IMO

And Luke Stocker if you want to throw a TE in there.

fwiw Tyrod is 14th in the country in pass efficiency.

Our linebackers have struggled a lot this year so I'm worried about Hardesty

Beamerball hasn't been what it used to be the past couple seasons. We've only blocked one kick this year (miami) but our PR and KO return has been well above average.

We have actually been using a little more option the last 2 games, so that might be a possibility.

Fair assessment though

MY Hokie buddies at work hate Beamer ball. They sound like us when we were trashing Fulmer for being outdated. There are a bunch of VT fans at work and everyone of them gives the game to UT. We all call it close but they keep telling me Beamer will find a way to lose.

Tennessee's special teams suck.

The defense is one of the best in the business. However, athletic QBs have given this defense fits. With that being said, Monte Kiffin has had nearly a month to put a gameplan together.

The offense begins and ends with the ground game. Establish the run then bootleg off of that. Crompton is at his best when he doesn't have to watch the whole field. A lot of seam routes to the TE. Moore and Jones came off of injuries earlier in the year and the O was opened up a bit with experienced WRs.

Hardesty is the guy that everything starts with though. He gets stronger with every carry and by the 4th quarter he gets 7 to 9 yards on what were 3 and 4 yarders.

I think it will be a GREAT game. Both teams are evenly matched. Should be fun. Go Vols.... One more thing, I rooted hard for the Hokies against alabama.

If this game was a pro wrestling match, it would be the equivalent of a loser leave town match. It is that big from where I come. SW VA Big Orange fan. Many Hokies here, but many, many more Vols.

Good to see reasonable discussions from visitors rather than Bammer or Gator trolls stirring the pot!
It should be a great game and believe it will come down to coaching. I give the edge to the Kiffins.
I will be there! 304 row 10!

I have a lot of family in alabama that is rooting hard against tenn. Not much love between bama and tenn apparently

I've heard much concern about special teams from tenn fans. Is that solely based on the 2 blocked field goals against bama or has it been an ongoing problem all season?

All season. There has been other blocks, misses, etc. The consistent problem is lack of coverage!
