I have met Clay before. He is a great guy, and good fisherman. If everyone had the outlook on life he had this world would be a better place.

My guess would be he is trying to say that the current players that seem to keep getting into trouble, supended, kicked off the team should take a long hard look at what they have is a gift. And they are more fortunate than most, and should be doing something with what they have been given instead of pissing their scholarships away. Make the most of what is given to you! In this way it relates to the players.
