I was in section N row 64 right underneath this 24" pipe. When Wilhoit made the FG I jumped up and grabbed the pipe and started swinging on it. I was a little more rowdy back then than I am now.
i hated losing but felt really good for the kicker. if tennessee lost because of the missed extra point, i was worried he might have to find a new school to attend in a hurry.
We might argue just a little bit every now & then about Fulmer this or Fulmer that. Maybe also about other things, but we all want one thing & that is for UT to be back on top. Hopefully we will have some special moments like that again sooner than later. Go Vols!
I would have given ANYTHING to be there. I can just imagine how electric it was when he nailed the 50 yarder. I know the roof blew off my house that night. I went nuts.
Here is what I noticed:
1) We caught punts.
2) Our OLine was stout.
3) Kickers still kept it exciting with some misses on both sides.
4) After every long gain we killed the momentum with a dive up the middle(but, hey, that's just me!).
I was at the game. I have never heard a stadium go from dead silence to an ear piercing noise level that quick. When Wilhoit's kick went through, that was the loudest I have heard Neyland.
My favorite part of that game was a TD drive we had that we never threw a pass. Ran the ball every play and went 75 or 80 yards. Posted via VolNation Mobile
