Check out the highlight reel on 2009 recruit and current Andalusia LB Nico Johnson. This one handed INT (second clip in first film), and the run after the play is amazing. Nico's a good friend of mine and former teammate, btw...

While Nico is a lifelong Alabama fan, you're going to get your fair chance. He speaks very highly of the Vol program and is already set to attend UT's game at Alabama. He holds an offer from Alabama, will be receiving an offer from Auburn very soon, and is receiving heavy interest from Notre Dame, Florida, Florida State, Michigan, North Carolina, LSU, and your Tennessee Volunteers. He is being projected by Rivals.com insiders as one of the top LBs for the '09 class and a 5 star prospect.

It never hurts to have 6'2, 220 pound linebackers running a 4.6 and with a 37 inch vertical...

Kid looks good, i know alot of folks from Andalusia and i doubt he leaves the state, only orange ive ever seen in that area was on me.

I dont think he would be playing LB for us, little slow, but does have a good nose for the ball. I would see him moving to DE wherever he goes. Even at Bama.

4.6 is slow for an MLB?

FWIW, I looked at the signee lists and noticed that UT has signed several linebackers that were much slower than Nico.

Although, you're right in saying that a move to a rush end is not out of the picture.

4.6 to slow? Chris Donald was listed at 4.6, is he to slow to play lb at UT.

He may list a 4.6 but those videos he doesnt look near that fast.

Chris Donald has been clocked in the 4.4s' so yes hes fast enough.

I dont see any other LBs on our roster that would run more than a 4.5 other than Thompson or Reviez and hes a walk on. Chris Walker maybe, but i think he even ran a 4.5 but hes been moved to DE where they talked about him going before he committed.

I am just saying he looks slow to play LB. So does Austin Johnson but we are bringing him in. Most Highschool LB that UT recruits end up at DE at some point. They recruit safties to play LB.

I am not by any means putting him down, kid can play, but you compare his videos to any other LB, use chris donalds and you will see a HUGE football speed difference .

Dont take to much stock into 40 times. For a linebacker, reaction time would be just as important.

i am not taking any stock in his 40, i said he was slow on film, slow sideline to sideline someone else mentioned his 40 an said we had some that slow but we dont

he will have a hard time in the sec with his speed he barely runs down HS kids now

DE all the way
