Really? $300K might buy you a decent beachfront timeshare.
That's about what they go for in PCB. Most 2 bedrooms beachfront condos go for 250k and up and 1 bedrooms go 150k+ but also have to pay about $300 and up a month in HOA and prices go up with more sf and amenities. Watch beachfront bargain hunt on hgtv and Zillow.com.

These are not time shares. People make money renting them weekly and also use them as their own vacation when they like.

She was approved December 15th and to not be in place til Feb 15th and know Hart and Cheek were leaving well in advance does make it a fiasco.

Now they may end up making a good hire we will see, but to act like appear to be organized and prepared is ridiculous imo.

Taking two months for a chancellor to get in place is ridiculous in itself.

The need for a search firm is usually to confirm an already firm decision. This is done to protect the decision makers from potential charges of conflict of interest and previous relationships that may cause suits, etc..

Further, the Author asks: "Why hasn’t Blackburn even been contacted by the university about the job?" Blackburn denies any contact, which is normal for someone currently employed. That is why Agents are utilized; to insulate the individual from negative repercussions in their current position if negotiations go south.

She further states: "There’s an advantage for the administration putting Fulmer’s name out as a candidate too, one that has nothing to do with hiring him: stirring up past controversies and exploiting a perceived divide in the UT fan base. That shifts the focus of fans and the media from the university’s failures on the administrative level to long-running arguments that diffuse and distract from the real issues." I would say she is giving the Admin a lot of credit for being sophisticated in their planning, lol. At worst, she is doing exactly what she accuses the Administration of doing. . . stirring the pot.

"Then they’ll spend four or five years watching everything burn to the ground." Really? I guess conspiracy is a modern hobby. Sure errors are made by everyone in every life, but to put out there in the press that the UT Administration desires to fail is total bovine scatology.
