Okay so this is going to be my vent from Saturday and then I can move on to Wisconsin.
1. Those saying good ridance Erik Ainge etc etc are out of your minds. Without Erik we would have all been huddled around our tv's watching UGA play LSU. He made two bad throws that changed the game, he stepped up took responsibility for it, the game is over let's move on to the badgers.
2. With that being said, I would like to point out that Erik Ainge might be one of the most frustrating players for me to watch. On those two INTs in the 2nd half, when they showed the replay the WR was clearly covered. On the pick 6, Zenon didn't take any steps backwards and had that route jumped before Ainge even threw it. You just have to wonder what EA saw there. There are times that he looks brilliant and then others where you are left scratching your head. Personally I think his sophmore year really messed him up(getting pulled in favor of Clausen when he made mistakes). He is so scared to make a mistake now, which has led to nothing but short passes or throw aways.
3. Cutcliff was clearly outcoached in the SECCG. He started off so well and then got conservative the rest of the first half. That first drive he mixed things up with the play calls and putting G. Jones in the G-Gun. Jones ran for 20 yards out of the gun, and handed off to get another 10 and then we never saw it again. Mix it up some more and let him throw it, he was a qb in HS he knows how to sling it. Put in Crompton some more and let him do his best Tebow impression. Just typical get a lead and get conservative TN offense. So very frustrating.
4. Like some others on here that I've read I feel the defense could have held on to that 14-13 lead. The LSU offense was reeling. There was a series of about 3-4 straight plays that one of their offensive playmakers got hurt. Our D was layin' some wood out there, and they had a swagger to them. I'm really looking forward to watching that D backfield for the next couple of years! Between them and the LBs/DTs we are in good shape next year.
5. I don't know what the deal with Lincoln was. For the better part of the year he has been automatic. You can't get any more perfect conditions than playing in a dome. I saw someone really digging and trying to blame the LS. Lincoln just messed those, there is no where else to place blame.
6. Did Arian Foster look like he was moving in slow motion to anyone else but me? I LOVE the workhorse like effort we've gotten out of him this season but he just doesn't have that extra gear and it was really evident on the short pass that went a long way in the 2nd half. I think Creer/Hardesty take that one to the house.
7. Finally, I've been one that has supported the all orange or even a black jersey/pant switch up. Those all orange uni's were terrible. They might not have been so bad had their been some white stripes on the pants or something. That just looked bad though. I guess we can put those back in storage for another 5 years until that year's senior class can convice CPF to let them wear them.
Whew!! Now let's move on to Wisconsin!! I absolutely love the matchup and really think we dominate the game, especially with the way our D has come on as of late. Realistically...how many of you thought we'd be playing on Jan. 1 after the Cal/Fla/Ala games.
