why is everyone sweating over vanderbilt. they are an improved team but its not like last year set the bar very high for them. we have played the best schedule in the nation, while having some catastrophic injuries. ive heard everyone say how the definsive backfield for vanderbilt is their strength but they didnt exactally tear it up once they started playing real teams. i cant even believe people are freaking out over playing vanderbilt. so here are some stats.

tenn pass off 250.7 y/g 41st
van pass off 172.5 y/g 98th

tenn rush off 91.9 y/g 112th
van rush off 162.4 y/g 56th

ten off tot 93rd
van off tot 96th

ten rush def 166 y/g 67th
van rush def 122.9 y/g 31st

ten pass def 192 y/g 23rd
van pass def 204.7 y/g 38th

ten def tot 42nd
van def tot 21st

now go back and look at the teams we have played and who they have played. relax guys we win this one.

I never thought I would see the day that a UT fan would say they are scared of Vandy. Some folks need to man up or give back their man cards.

Yeah, everybody please buy what they are selling. Vandy will really be a push over. Lots of sarcasm ! If anyone watched the Arky and Vandy game, they know better.

VANDERBILT

Versus Georgia: -94 yardage, 5 point loss
Georgia Bulldogs vs. Vanderbilt Commodores - Recap - October 15, 2011 - ESPN

Versus Arkansas: +74 yardage, 3 point loss
Arkansas Razorbacks vs. Vanderbilt Commodores - Recap - October 29, 2011 - ESPN

Versus Florida: -33 yardage, 5 point loss.
Vanderbilt Commodores vs. Florida Gators - Recap - November 05, 2011 - ESPN

Now look at how we did. How we lost to the same exact opponents. You tell me that Vandy isn't playing better football than we are at this point.

what if I also watched Vandy-bama or Vandy-USCjr?

USC/Vandy was different as that was with Lattimore/Garcia for USC and Vandy wasn't playing with Rogers.

Bama? No reason even thinking about that. They're closer to the NFL than they are to most of the SEC... far outside of the bottomfeeders (Ole Miss, Vandy, Kentucky, Tennessee). I am not even thinking about Bama as a baseline comparison.

Florida has given up this season and its obvious Georgia over looked them Arkansas should have lost that game they could not get out of their own way on defense and yet they still lost and you forgot to put up the sc and bama games. We won't be able to walk on the field and win but I do not expect this game to be close

So they get the benefit of the doubt for not having rodgers in but we don't get that for bray or hunter?

They played Georgia (28-33), Florida (21-26), and Arkansas 28-31

Since they inserted the little brother of NFL QB Aaron Rogers into the lineup their offensive numbers are much better than the full season stats the OP listed. We are going to have our hands full keeping him contained. We start stacking the box to keep him in check and I can visualize our corners one on one with their WRs, which is a scary thought. Look at the QBs we have faced that are dual threat types, see SC's Shaw and UGA's Murray for example, and how we did.

against USCjr they had 4 to's and still only got 77 total yards. That's all Rodgers? How about them squeaking by UConn?

everyone uses 1 game/opponent to back their claim that Vandy is good this year. Hoever when you look at the body of work you see they really aren't anything special.

he's completed 51% of his passes for 7td and 6int. Stop the run and let him try to beat even our secondary

Rodgera has 7 tds and 6 ints to go with a 7 yards per ATT avg not exactally a world beater

LMAO! We're play bad enough to jeopardize my man card.

That really sucks.

I agree that is porbably the best game plan, make him beat us with his arm. You didnt post the yardage their offense is putting up? I just worry about our corners in one on one situations. They seemed to get burned an awful lot.

It's not a "benefit of the doubt" it's a "they are much better with Rodgers than without".

I.E. you don't look at UT with Simms when expecting UT with Bray against Vandy last year. It's simple consistency. We haven't seen Bray since the UGA game. We have no idea what we'll get.

You posted the stats, man. I retorted with relevant stats of 3 games against like opponents. Simply put, they have outplayed us in those games. I don't care what we did against MTSU or Montana and I don't care what Vandy did against Elon or UConn.

Not worried at all. At the end of the day they are still Vandy.

I'm saying you say their stats aren't that bad because rodgers hasn't been the starter all season but bray has been out too against our top comp

Didnt say he was. He is competent enough though to run that offense effectively and make some big plays. I just would not ignore the fact that they are on the upswing and playing competive football against some quality opponents that have whipped us, and we are struggling at the simple things like tackling, run blocking, running forward in the run game, special teams, and scoring points in the second half. I am not chalking this up as an automatic W.
