Got a story here about old kin folk of mine, I thought it was pretty good,
"In the early 1920s, my great, great, grandpa, Steve Barrett, was making moonshine n the Bradyville area of Cannon County. At 1:00 p.m., the sheriff and his deputies came through the woods to raid the still. Steve saw them coming and he ran the other way. Sheriff Ashford shouted out that he knew who he was and not to run.
Steve ran to a road and caught a ride into town with a man who was driving a model T. when he got to town, Steve went to the sheriff's officeand looked inside. Upon seeing anyone, he went inside and ran the bog clock on the wall back to 1:00 .pm. He then went back outside and knocked on the door
The sheriff's wife answered, and Steve said he heard the sheriff was looking for him. She said the sheriff was not at the office right then. Steve asked her what time it was and she told him it was 1:00 pm Steve said he would "just wait a while." The sheriff's wife then went back into the kitchen and Steve ran the clock up to the correct time and left.
A few days later, the sheriff arrested Steve. During the trial Steve testified that the sheriff had arrested the wrong man. The sheriff testified that he raided Steve's mill at 1:00 pm. and that he was there. Mrs Ashford was called to testify and sure enough, she testified that Steve was at the sheriff's office at 1:00 on the day of the raid. The judge let Steve go."
