I'm impressed how they're hanging in. They were on the field for 40 minutes in the Swamp. Only the QBs feet beat them.

The DC MUST seal the edge. UF got nothing running up the middle and only tried 4-5 times.

AND, the D did not give up - thank you Butch.

I agree. One of the best tacklers I saw today was #34 JRM. He looks like Al Wilson did as a FR on special teams.

Better, yes. Very good? No. Sorry, but no.

Tackling needs huge improvement. Not getting any kind of consistent pressure on the qb. Still dreadfully slow in the backfield. Can't seal the edge. McCullers consistently underachieves, injuries and Couch being out are really hurting us as well.

Having said all of that, it is clear they are dramatically improved over last year. They're playing the whole game-not quitting at all. Don't take this post the wrong way, really not trying to be negative, but these major problems do exist and need to be addressed before we can say our D is in "very good" condition.

weren't most of those missed tackles today from lack of depth? I think for the most part we have some talented guys who seem very well coached.

they just get beat sometimes and that's talent not effort. also not coaching.

you can say "bad angles" are coaching but honestly with younger guys thats inexperience and with the older guys...... haha yes bad coaching for the first 2-3 years will do that to ya.

I think FL offensive took a step forward today once Driskol left the building...unfortunately.

exactly. totally agree their second string was way better. he was completing passes but also had legs...

remember Driskell wasn't healthy and can't throw a damn anyway

Yeah, great condition. Too bad they are so slow and take bad angles when trying tacke someone.

I think many posters in this topic have been watching us lose too many football games. If you are happy with today's overall defensive performance then you need your eyes examined.

i don't know how anyone could be encouraged by what they saw defensively from tennessee.

probably because they played as well as can be expected from guys who have seen 3 different coaches, schemes, and playbooks in 3 years.

also Florida absolutely blows this year. but it's not because of depth issues or graduating early.. honestly I think y'all have an even bigger problem because it's easier to replace players than start all over with new coaches. (you can trust tennessee fans we have some experience here....good lord)

florida fans are so trashy. seriously. just scanning the crowd made me sick to my stomach. stop trolling and go celebrate the fact you're going to lose the east and a bowl again.

Glad to see some positive talk. I agree
