Go back and actually watch the game. I was there. I remember it well just like I do the other 300 games I’ve been too
I watched it my man. And bc you went to the game doesn't mean you're right. I've been to my fair share as well bud. But you can't be too impressive, you're on a free website same as me claiming you are better than me bc you went to what you say is over 300 games.

Lol they lost to QB because of coaching and because our RB fumbled the game away in the end zone after Bray completed a 60 yr pass. Also the refs incorrectly said UK was down when they fumbled on the last drive. To blame that game on Bray is ridiculous. The stats do speak for themselves. In 2012 if Dooley could’ve even fielded an average UT defense instead of the worst one ever they would’ve won the SEC. Bray regularly had dominating stats in 3 years that broke records then went to the NFL early and is still playing there. You simply don’t understand the game. Hell even Hooker will have surpassed Shuler and Martin’s stats in just 2 seasons if he stays healthy
Martin, Casey, Dobbs and Kelly were winners even if the stats did not always bear it out.

Bray on the other hand was closer to Ryan Leaf with his physical gifts and attitude. He beat no team of consequence in 2 1/2 years as starter. Yes, the team was down. But he and D Rogers “led” the team to that Kentucky debacle. Dooley wanted out and we should’ve taken him up on it.

Peyton
Shuler
Clausen
Dobbs
Good answer. I'd swap Dobbs and Clausen... I might even put Dobbs above Shuler. Shuler was born out of his time. He would thrive in today's game. He was an excellent runner. The simple reads in Heupel's O would have suited him very well.

Al Wilson had more to do with bring a NC to Knoxville than Tee Martin. Al was the leader of that team by miles. Peyton is the best pure QB in UT history. If Peyton would have more help in the run game during his tenure and didn't try to do everything himself, he probably would've got us one at least.

Tennessee won early in spite of Tee. The defense carried the team thru Fla & Aub and played great at Ga. Tee finally came around at Ga & played good rest of the year.

Few people remember that before the Stoerner fumble, tee missed on a couple passes that could have put Tennessee in FG range to win the game. After the fumble, Fulmer fed Travis Henry for the TD.

I'm not saying this is the metric that defines greatness (God knows, JG was #6); however, it speaks for itself.

Manning - college and NFL hall of fame QB.
Shuler - really was a good college QB. Won before we had all the pieces in place.
Clausen - made some of the most clutch throws I have ever seen.
Tee - won an NC, I was at the USCe game when he set the completion record.
Dobbs - was so much fun to watch.

Andy Kelly’s stats are strange. I don’t think I’ve ever seen a QB that felt like a stat monster, but really wasn’t. We were an absolute freak show at WR and RB during his career.

Manning... and it's not close.
The obvious choice. With todays offenses you wonder who would be second and third and succeed in JH offense. Heath could manage on skill. TRob would do well. Am guessing Casey could manage with grasp of the offense and precision.
