Conversely we should have never beaten Scar either. Its football.
Not true... but if it helps you sleep.
If you looked at the rosters before the season (as I did) you would have seen that USCe had as many big holes as UT did. Their schedule was not nearly as hard and they had some breaks go their way... but the two rosters were pretty evenly matched in overall talent and experience. Matchups in many ways favored UT.
Nope. It is true and the facts are readily available. But I have engaged enough of you who are unwilling to accept any criticism of the staff to know that you aren't really interested in the facts.

Seriously? Are you trolling? This is why you feel so let down. Did you listen to some of the senior players comments this season? How they didnt work out...? How they wish they had more time with this staff,,,?

And I think you were just lecturing me about not knowing how to debate? Even if this were coherent... it would be devoid of logical reasoning. The fact that you think this is true completely discredits anything reasonable you may say as that just comes across as "lucky" when taken in context with the rest of your ridiculous statements.
The only spots UT was even remotely more talented were at K,P and O-line.
Or as you would like to call them "the skill positions"
And I think you were just lecturing me about not knowing how to debate? Even if this were coherent... it would be devoid of logical reasoning.
Nope mo. Skill positions are WR and RB.
And... that is not true. The fact that some of the groups underperformed and particularly on D does not mean they had no talent. Enough? No. Not to win the SEC or compete for the East. Enough? Yes to not look worse than an FCS school vs 4 teams and lose to Vandy... at home... with two weeks to prepare.
Strictly from the outside looking in and TRULY hoping that it was a strategy to play some guys while holding others back for development purposes...I can appreciate your points and you had many of them. So tell me based off all that happened this season with players, injuries, schedule, and general coachdom what would you have done differently this season had you been in charge?
With his stated goal on the line I most certainly would not have played not to lose vs Vandy. He tried to "manage" the game against an inferior opponent. The result was that he kept them in the game then the won it at the end. Did he really think his D or DC were good enough to put the game in their hands at the end?Detail please how we could have gotten to 6 or more wins. Examples of play calling, practice scheduling, motivational ploys, coaching techniques, or anything really would be appreciated.
I truly appreciate that. I'd far rather have that kind of discussion or debate than the ones that get personal and avoid dealing with actual thoughts, facts, and reasoning. Not trying to be a smart allec, I would seriously like to hear your ideas.
Name four teams that wouldn't get run out of the stadium verses alabama, auburn, mizzou, and oregon.
Edit: forgot to add that said teams must be playing their 3rd string QB, who may or may not have a hurt hand in some of those games, and very young unproven WRs.

Yes. Are you? I just couldn't tell through all of the excuses and low expectations... How's that?
Yes I am a fan, and I wasn't making excuses, and yea my expectations was low because I live in the real world and know that we didn't have the "homerun hire" in a proven coach like a Saban or Kelly. Plus I've also paid attention to the last 3-4 years of recruiting and the level of talent we have on our roster!
I AM a UT fan.... just not sure I am a fan of this coaching staff yet based on their results. And- I know the difference between the two. Some of you apparently don't. You'll disrespect the players all day long but bristle at any and all criticism of the coaches.
I have never pulled a Dooley and disrespected any player! I support our players every week win or loose. They wanted to come and represent the university that I love, so I will respect and support them! But you can't sit there and get me to believe that this team should've been in the games with our schedule. They are not the level of talent that UT is accustomed to having in the glory years of the 90's -early 00's, and are not up to the talent level to compete with our schedule week in and week out with no depth!
The six wins most wanted was NOT too high. The willingness to accept any number of wins as long as the team was competitive and improved over the course of the year was DEFINITELY not too high.
I do not make excuses for the loses! I do agree that we should not have lost the Vady game. With that said our schedule was stacked against us early on. And I also believe ( not making a excuse, but living real world) that if Worley had not gotten injured we would've been in more games/ had closer games. He IMO was progressing and gettin better with playing time. That's just my opinion. We have no proven and consistent QB play.
Only a pathetically loser attitude would think 5 was acceptable or that 6 or 7 wins was too high of an expectation from that roster.
I truly appreciate that. I'd far rather have that kind of discussion or debate than the ones that get personal and avoid dealing with actual thoughts, facts, and reasoning.

I know you should be kidding here... but I don't think you are.
Arizona who was beaten by Washington State the week before and slaughtered by ASU the week after... beat Oregon 42-16. Their QB is described as a "dinker and dunker". Their top receiver and two of their top 4 were Freshmen. Their OL was nowhere near as talented as UT's and their D was no faster or more athletic.
Toledo, Indiana, and Arkansas State (with a brand new HC) all played Mizzou better than UT did.
Ga State and Co St both played Bama closer than UT did both statistically and on the scoreboard.
Ark St, Wa St, Ole Miss, MSU, and Ark all gave Auburn a better game than UT did. FAU who wasn't even a good mid-major team held Auburn to fewer rushing yards than UT did. And... Auburn didn't set return records against the other teams on their schedule.
I chose some of the most glaring examples in order to answer your comment at the end. Those teams were no better off than UT was yet they played those opponents better.
