'26 UT WR Salesi Moa (Tennessee commit)

AP says hes going Utah but you never know
Please post things like this in full context and/or give an actual quote. Here was his full quote after being hounded about a prediction all day on Volquest.

AP: "I know Moa and fam have had conversations with ppl around Tennessee today. The couple of national ppl I’ve spoken with still think Utah. That’s the easy pick so I guess if I had to go a certain way it would be Utah."

AP has been wrong before.
Great guy!

But doesnt always get it right.

Moa- a 5 star is somehow going to be the most underrated commit we have!

Thank you.

@Volman678 get your facts straight homie

@Volman678 has, in his VERY brief posting history on Volnation, absolutely zoomed to the top of the least reliable posters list.

The most telling thing to me was the comment about a week or so ago that Utah insiders apparently had no clue why it was taking Moa so long to go ahead and commit to Utah. That tells me they’re not hearing anywhere remotely close to everything.

Carl Pickens did it also. It didn't seem to stunt his development.
Carl only played safety his RS freshman year & rarely played Wr that last half of the season if at all. He reluctantly played safety that season & didn’t want any part of it after the 1989 season.

RS both Pickens & Webb was one of the worst decisions Majors ever made.

this was always the Utes, kid is a legacy
Don’t let anybody ever say that you are anything but consistent. You predict every bigtime recruit to commit to someone else.

….and also, his brother, Aisea Moa, who was also a Utah legacy, went to BYU. His other brother, Sione Moa, went to Utah State, and later transferred to BYU. Maybe the Moa family isn’t so big on Utah. Salesi’s dad seems to be the outlier.

was just basing that off of what I recall hearing in pc and was incorrect.

I think we get Hiter if it's any consolation.

that changed over the last couple weeks obviously

It may very well be Utah; but, UT has definitely made it A LOT closer and interesting, otherwise it would have been Utah a month ago, two weeks ago, today (he and his family are still talking to Heup and crew). Not going to be surprised at all, if he chooses Vols.
Ill grant you that

Even if he picks Utah tomorrow finishing close second for this guy isn’t the worst thing in this portal world.

Things don’t go well at Utah and he will remember what this coaching staff had planned for him if he was a vol. If he enters the portal the vols will be primed to get him just like Amari Jefferson.
It’s only the summer.
Signing day is in December.

Most important thing above anything else is to get our mojo back on offense.

We do that, there’s no stopping Tennessee.
Recruiting, winning games, you name it.

Not if they weren’t ready. And we don’t know if they were ready.

Hell, Pickens wasn’t a star as a WR in 89. He may have have 7 or 8 catches. And the year he redshirted (1988), Tennessee had Woods, Cleveland, Harper, Morgan, Moore…there was no need to burn his redshirt.

AP said that Moa and his family have talked to people around the program today.

It's just as quiet on the Utah boards as it is here so I don't think either team has been given an answer yet. I lean Utah for all the obvious reasons but the fact we are still in communication gives me hope we can pull the upset tomorrow afternoon.

If this is a deadheat then you always go with the home team. I think we need to be leading clearly in the heads of his inner circle to pull it off.

I don't know much about this recruitment but he sounds Samoan. How much, if any, does the Nico drama hurt?

It would nice to land a few more splash guys.

This is the stadium where he plays in on Friday nights. Utah seems more and more like a good place to move too.

I remember Rockwood HS in Tennessee has a mountain right behind their school as well.
Utah is a great place from what Ive seen! BYU’s stadium has one of the best backdrops I have ever seen
