Too much is asked from our receivers offensively and he has too many responsibilities at the star position in our defense to ever be an integral part of the offense. Not only is he having to master 2 positions, but he’s also having to study the opposing team’s film on both sides of the ball every week. There’s a reason teams don’t do it, and it’s not for the hell of itI don't bet, but I'm sure you'll be able to find someone else on here to fleece you.
You chose a piss poor number. 20 touches? He's likely to get at least half that if not all of that number just running reverses/wide receiver sweeps. He's a highly skilled punt returner and kick returner. They'll just give him the ball in space.Too much is asked from our receivers offensively and he has too many responsibilities at the star position in our defense to ever be an integral part of the offense. Cool. You made up a new set of standards that weren’t the topic of discussion because your original point was shot down.Tyran Mathieu didn’t play receiver full time either, neither did Champ Bailey. Neither of those guys were looked at as players with WR1 and CB1 potential for NFL scouts either. They were drafted to play defense. Players aren’t wanting to be the next Adoree Jackson or Ray Ray McCloud and catch maybe 10-20 passes a season. They want to be the next Travis Hunter and catch 100 balls for 1000 yards and 10 TDs and be a starter on defense, and that’s not happening in the SEC. Especially as deep as it is now
Dee Williams got less than 5 touches on offense his entire career and had close to zero responsibilities on defense in 2023 and was more dynamic with the ball in his hands than Boo was last year. Our offense simply isn’t built to accommodate gadet players and use tweeners in space because of our tempo and not subbing in and out on drives. Unless we go more towards a traditional passing game and get receivers involved on jet touch passes I don’t see it happeningYou chose a piss poor number. 20 touches? That’s not what these kids are envisioning though, and coaches across the country will feed into their delusions on the recruiting trail. Then after it doesn’t happen they’ll pitch a fit and hit the portal. Just like Boo almost did because the staff lied to him out of HS about getting him close to 10 touches a gameCool. The subject was playing both ways in the SEC. The subject wasn’t playing both ways and being WR1 and CB1. Did anyone say that’s what UT’s coaches are selling Moa on? No. The topic was UT coaches seeing Moa as a guy who could play on both sides of the ball. Period.
Champ Bailey had 47 catches for over 700 yards his final year at Georgia. He didn’t do that just playing token snaps.
You wanna argue with strawmen, knock yourself out. But it’s been proven that dudes can play both ways in the SEC. Moving the target doesn’t change that.
Both are listed as athletes and being recruited by schools as two way players at S/WR.Those two prospects have nothing to do with each other. Wyatt is for sure a defensive player.
Then he drops down a level after a couple years or transfers to a D1 school to play defense but has missed 2 years of development. But if we wants to bet on himself at WR then that's his decision. More power to him. The transfer portal makes it easier to do that now days.Which is why I don’t think he ends up in this class.
Someone will tell him what he wants to hear and give him a shot on offense.
Very few prospects enter their senior season of HS as D1 WRs. Wyatt’s only problem is he’s not a natural pass catcher, but neither was Julio Jones or Quinten Johnson from TCU a few years back. Also judging by our WRs the last 2 years a receiver not being able to catch the ball hasn’t stopped our staff from taking a gamble in the past. Every other aspect from size, athleticism, and even his route running screams he’s a D1 WR and is MILES ahead of any other prospect we’ve landed at WR in those categories outside of maybe Mike Matthews. With the 105 scholarship limit we’d be crazy to not give him through spring camp to see if he can improve his hands or not. Worst case scenario it doesn’t work and we’re either replacing him in the portal at the end of the 26 season or moving him to defenseNo chance Wyatt plays offense in college. He is either S or EDGE depending on how he develops physically. He is not a D1 WR.
lol the #3 National rated player with these stats wasn’t a natural pass catcher? OkVery few prospects enter their senior season of HS as D1 WRs. I don't know who told you that but I don't know one team that is recruiting Wyatt on offense. Both are listed as athletes and being recruited by schools as two way players at S/WR.
Part of the reason Wyatt hasn’t jumped in our class is cause other schools are offering him the opportunity to play offense. I’d love to have both but I doubt it works out that way.
Moa is a more natural fit at either position imo.
