Since this is a bigger game then normal, I decided to start the thread a little bit early :superman:

CJ watson will have a huge game, Lofton being double teamed...he'll step up and assist/3 pointer his way to knocking off Winthrop....

I hope that will happen, but I don't know if this team can win without Lofton at least making some sort of impact on the scoreboard. We just don't have that pep in our step when he's not hitting. I say they'll put a decent-sized(6'2-6'4) guard on him and he'll be quiet for about 10 minutes and then he'll go off.

Pearl said they'll be putting a 6'6'' guard on him that is one of the best defensive players hes seen. I think if we hit our 3s we will win big, if we arent we will be fighting for our lives. We will get killed inside by their big men, because they like to drive it, and take it inside.

Haven't we learned our lesson about predictions. Why tempt fate?

We need to either generate some turnovers or give up the pressing. Our FG% against is enormous and we need turnovers to offset that. We have not been generating turnovers lately and giving up truckloads of layups (a la SC defeat).

Finally, can we get Wingate some stick 'em so that he might corral a pass or even grab a board this weekend.

I think we should send Wingate to see Trooper Taylor over the summer and get him to catch some passes from that machine, different type of ball but would still increase his hands. Or make one that shoots basketballs.

If theres a bigger critisizer of Wingate outta this bunch than me, I'd like to see it. HOWEVER.......I have a gut feelin this lad is a lil like popeye. Hes had all he can stands, and can't stands n'more. He made comment I respect, when they lost in the SEC tourney he wanted to remember how it feels....let it burn in. I gotta tell ya, I may be way , way wrong...but I think this young man is ready to rebound.

He can burn til kingdom come, but he sure can't catch it and if it by chance lodges into is body cavity so he can stop it, he sure can't hold on to it.

I guess what I'm asking is....how can you expect him to rebound if'n he can't catch it.

just pulling your chain. I can only hope he is ready to man up and get some rebounds.

I don't think I've seen a Gregg Marshall-coached team double-team anyone...He doesn't really get too gimmicky (sp?) w/ his defenses. Expect to see Torrell Martin get the assignment on Lofton w/ Michael Jenkins off the bench filling in from time to time.

Noticed today that Marshall's name has been associated with the K-State job. Any thoughts?

All I can say is go vols and take care of your opponet. this is a very good team that has had a magical run this season. Even if they lose tommorrow, I will be proud of this team. no one expected this, and even though losing tommorrow would suck, the overall season would be such a tremendous accomplishment.

Little nervous but I've been nervous every game this year. I'll be watching out on the patio at Alice Cooperstown but I'll see you after the game.

PJ, is Majerle's stil open? I haven't been to the Valley of the Sun in some time. I always liked that place.

Yeah it's still open and a pretty cool place. D'town is torn up so I can't park near there anymore. We used to have an SEC alumni kickoff party there before the fball season started. Sadly they ended that but there were some good looking Southern women there (especially Auburn :dunno:). Funny thing was no one would talk to the UF fans. They sat in the corner by themselves. :birgits_giggle:
