Tebow did seem sort of average in that game. However, I lay that at the feet of his team. He got no help. What will be funny is watching other teams try to scheme up what Monte did against the Gators as if our game play was somehow trivial. Teams will try, but fail to execute what we did. Our defensive scheme worked well because we practically have an all-world secondary.
They spent a lot of time in the secondary? Had Berry, et al not been sure tacklers.........
If this were Rex Grossman of Doug Johnson, I'd probably enjoy that assessment. Those guys were jerks. As it is, I take no pleasure from seeing Tebow's NFL chances diminished. He's a class act and I love his competitiveness, I just hate what's he's done to us on the field. I'd much rather see another year like 2007 where he wins the Heisman and the Gators lose 4 times than have them win the SEC (and possibly more), but Tebow gets drafted late.
Tebow will end up as a TE or some type of joke or on ESPN classic's top ten draft busts. The next Tony Mandrich. By that I mean the hype that all the mags give him.
It was just as obvious to SEC fans that Jamarcus Russell was far too big a bonehead to play QB in the NFL, but that didn't keep him from being taken #1.
Russell actually has loads of talent. Much like Vince Young.
