If this were Rex Grossman of Doug Johnson, I'd probably enjoy that assessment. Those guys were jerks. As it is, I take no pleasure from seeing Tebow's NFL chances diminished. He's a class act and I love his competitiveness, I just hate what's he's done to us on the field. I'd much rather see another year like 2007 where he wins the Heisman and the Gators lose 4 times than have them win the SEC (and possibly more), but Tebow gets drafted late.

Tebow will end up as a TE or some type of joke or on ESPN classic's top ten draft busts. The next Tony Mandrich. By that I mean the hype that all the mags give him.

I'll be shocked if Tebow does not get picked up in the first round. He can sell alot of tickets and would be an interesting weapon in the backfield, even if he does not make the conversion to pro-style QB. I could see him at FB taking the occasional direct snap. The man has alot of can-do in him and it's probably too early to say he will definitely be a bust at the next level.

But they are. What does it say about their passing game? We eventually plugged the box with safeties, who spent much of the day around the LOS and they still couldn't get beyond our LBs in the passing game. That's a problem.

If you're a QB prospect hoping to make it into the NFL, I have to think one of the last things you want is to be compared to Alex Smith.

I didn't read this thread other than the title, but hasn't everybody known for a while that Timmy isn't an NFL qb?

Couldn't agree more. It made the fact of Peyton and the Colts beating the Bears in the SB that much better. I never could stand Grossman. He always had that crap eating grin on his face when they showed his profile. :mad:

I like Tebow as a person. I hope he does well in the NFL. But I really can't him as an NFL QB.

It was just as obvious to SEC fans that Jamarcus Russell was far too big a bonehead to play QB in the NFL, but that didn't keep him from being taken #1.

One thing Tebow will never be considered is a huge bust. He in all likelihood won't be a 1st round pick unless something seriously changes between now and April. Kinda hard to be a bust when you're 3rd or 4th round pick. The expectations are way lower.

Russell actually has loads of talent. Much like Vince Young.

It'll be hard for NFL scouts to miss Tebow's shortcomings as an NFL style QB. (not a strong arm, doesn't take many snaps under center, trouble reading defenses)

Russell has all the physical talent in the world. But as a college QB, he was an imbecile -- you could just about count on him to make two stupid plays a game that would keep the other team in the game. I don't know how NFL scouts thought you could take a guy with a reputation for making stupid decisions in college, put him in the NFL where the game is 10x faster, and have that work out.

Russell would have been a decent mid-round pick as a project for a team that already had a decent QB. It was insanity to take him way up at the top of the draft and expect him to be able to carry a team in his first year or two. The same might be true of Tebow.

Miami, the wildcat formation is fitting for Tebow. I mean he can throw the ball ok, and when the whole defense is playing run he has a lot more options. Plus if you watch Tebow, he actually throws better on the run than in the pocket. Just remember, I said Miami.
