UT vs. UCONN

I understand scheduling hard opponents but this team is def not ready for the big boys. I thought the schedule was fine before this.

This would be great for everyone, a no lose situation. They are supposed to beat us, right? So we get style points for playing and if we keep it close we will look great. go for it. You cannot be the best unless you beat the best.

That would be a really nice addition to the schedule. UCONN is going to be one of the top 10 teams in the country come March.

What's with all the whinners? We might be playing UCONN. If you want them on your schedule, then this is the year to have them. They will might be ready by tourney time, but UCONN will not be the team they were last year. They are losing alot (Thabeet, Adrien, Price, Austrie). If we are going to play them, then this is the year, and if we play in their house this year, then we should have UCONN at TBA next year.

UCONN isn't going to fall off much at all. If Majok spurns Europe and gets eligible, they'll be more versatile and athletic than last year.

I think they will start off slow and hit their peak towards the end of the season. Like how Louisville started a bit slow this year.

Next year we have Memphis (down, but still good), Kansas (always a top 10 and Rivals' #1), Purdue (???) and USC (very good, but not great) as our major OOC games. That's a pretty good schedule and likely to be the "best" OOC schedule for any team in the SEC.

I know that it's great to have games against the best, but this past year was proof that it really won't help us come seeding time. At this point, we're getting the recruits and we're getting the exposure, so why feel like we have to keep adding tough games that won't be played during November or December, but are played in late January or February.

USC isn't within shouting distance of being very good.

Stanley Robinson is a freak, heck of an athlete. I'm not to familar with his game though. Not sure what kind of jumper he has. I want to see if Dyson will be himself still and remain that way throughout a season.

If we had not have played such a tough out of conference schedule last year we would have not made the field of 64 based off of our SEC performance.

I will say this: I love what Pearl/Hamilton have done as schedulers (sp?). Its nice to see competitive games against good programs.

Apparently I'm in the minority, so I'll just accept it and move on. Truth is that I only watch 5-6 games a year, so this would at least be one more that'd be broadcast down here and that I'd make time for.

I thought the schedule was finalized. If so, we'd probably have to buy someone out to add this game, and/or just promise a game next year.

As has been said, we better be getting a return game in TBA if we play at Puke-On.
