A friend of mine who is a Ole Miss grad said that Andy Kennedy is playing some of Coach O football players inside and we had better be ready for a very physical game this week. Can our rather small inside players hang in there without Lofton?

I'm pretty much dreading every game without Lofton, whether or not the opposing team is playing football, basketball, or baseball players down low.

Ole Miss football players are terrible. Maybe there better in hoops. Go Pearl...

I hope we can hold our own inside. The real question is, who is gonna step up in the absence of Lofton? JuJuan, Ramar, Tabb, Crews, Chism, Bradshaw, Howell?

I know they made more of a point of this in the last game, but they'll really need to establish an inside presence with Lofton out.

Oh a grad? There are a lot of UT grads on this board who couldn't tell you jack about what's really going on with UT bball.

This is a key point. I think that while Lofton is out, it's going to be less about who the other team has than it's about who steps up for the Vols. Our defense won't be effected near as bad with Lofton out as our offense.

I hope they do play plenty of football players. Fball shape and bball shape are two different things. If they have big Fball players on the court, we should go small and run them out of the gym. Easy.

Looking at Ole Miss:

12-7 overall. (includes a non-conference road loss to St. Louis, of all people.)

1-4 in the SEC.

Lost to Kentucky by 10, Mississippi State by 10, at LSU by 17, and most recently, at Florida by 9 (!!!)

Beat Arkansas by 2. (at Oxford.)

This is a team that a team that fancies itself a Sweet 16 contender should be able to beat, even without Lofton, and even on the road. Period.
