Should we call this the "Homer Only" thread?![]()
I think it was fairly obvious I was joking about the 37 sacks thing. That would probably break the single game record by about 20-something sacks. That being said, I do believe we will get good pressure on Longshore, a few sacks, a few poorly thrown passes, and hopefully and INT or two.
I think we will have a good rush around the Tackles but if Bolden and Mapu can get a good push up the middle and free up Mayo and company it could be a long day for Longshore and the RB's.I think it was fairly obvious I was joking about the 37 sacks thing. So... I imagine we will probably double up on Jackson to keep him from doing much. What do you guys think about Cal's other wideouts?
Robert Jordon is their possession reciever, avg'ed 12 ypc for around 500 yards. Hawkins is the only other real threat, but he's no Desean Jackson either. Avg'ed 16 ypc for 645 yards. We should be able to handle them, but if Eric Berry or Deangelo Willingham is going up against Jackson, it could be very very interesting. Either Hefney will double up on Jackson or they'll run a cover two most of the game.
That was my thought, as well. I figure a safety over the top on Jackson. We'll be getting pressure on Longshore. Hopefully he'll rely a bit too much on getting the ball to Jackson, who might not be open, and a desparation throw to avoid the sack allows for Hefney or whichever CB to make the pick.
