I don't like the idea of our defense against Sherron Collins and Mario Chalmers.

Sounds great.
I know there was once a poster who was a Jayhawk and Vol so hopefully he'll come posting when he hears this.

Hey hat i have a question. I've watched us play a couple of times this year and i noticed we haven't pressed as much. Are we trying to play more of a half court game or what? When pearl got here it was all about the up tempo style and pressing seems we have went away from that a little what gives?

Cole Aldrich will give us fits underneath. Rush is gone next year but Durrell Arthur, Marion Chalmers, and Sherron Collins will all be back.

This team doesn't guard the dribble well. Pressing exascerbates that problem.

Cole Aldrich is a stiff and Darrell Arthur will be in the NBA next year.

I know I'll likely catch some backlash for this, but I'm willing to bet our half-court defense will improve when Chris and JaJuan leave Knoxville.

Those guys are shooters first no doubt. Your probably right though. Our half court has been a problem for awhile. It will have to improve for us to go deep in the ncaa's.

Maybe not, but at least we will see them during the season before in the tourney. 2nd time around we do pretty well against teams. We were able to do alright against Memphis and Ok. St. the second time Pearl faced them. Might have an advantage for us. I like that Pearl is scheduling the elite programs.

Jajuan is pretty good defensively. Chris not so much.
the difference being that JSmith can defend when he concentrates (which lapses badly for him) and Lofton just can't. Lofton's only defensive strength is that he has quick hands and gets more tips than anyone else on the team. Otherwise, he's pretty much a liability.

you guys forget the games that didn't matter this year against crap teams where Tabb started shooting and put up some good point totals. Like the MTSU game last year also he scored like 13 in his first game ever, he just doesn't ever look to shoot.
