UT Season Ticket Demand Down

I thought that was right. How many undergrads does UT have? I know that UF basically fills up 35% of their stadium with students. I thought the same was in effect for UT and other SEC schools. Guess not.

Florida:
Students: 51,413
Undergraduates: 35,898
Postgraduates: 16,214

Tennessee:
Students: 26,400
Undergraduates: 20,400
Postgraduates: 6,000

Florida has a slightly smaller stadium and larger enrollment.

Dumb dumb dumb to charge students for their tickets. They already pay fees and tuition. They are also some of the only fans we have who stand and scream when the opposing team is on offense. I have been in lots of sections in Neyland, and we need more screaming students, not more revenue from ticket sales to wealthy boosters who do not show up to games and who when they do come sit around and golf clap lest they raise their blood pressure past the level the statin blockers are designed to keep them.

He is a very good AD not my personal Lord and Savior.

Charging student for tickets is stupid. Our school has a smallish student body especially compared to the SEC. They also should have a HUGE fan recent alumni program that gets a 23 year old season tickets in a crappy section for less than 1000 bucks a year. Lots of people in starter jobs have the passion for UT but not the cash.

If we want to be rowdy and intimidating, do things that attract the fans who care.

I thought they did have a young alumni program similar to what you are tlaking about?

How many tickets do they release for season tickets? 40-50k are students right? The only way 4% = 4000 is if all 100k seats are available for season tickets. I don't think that is the case. If 4000 are available 4% is more than likely closer to 10% decline. I'm assuming that UT releases 40-50k season ticket packages for the public / boosters to buy.

It sounded like the person who wrote the article calculated the 4,000 from the information they were given about being down 4%. I think the 4,000 is a bogus number.
