Personally I think we should be ranked in the 10-12 range - but making any list like this after the last 18 seasons is still pretty sweet.

If this is an all-time list, it doesn't make sense for programs like Virginia Tech, Oregon, Wisconsin and Stanford to be ranked ahead of us.

They used specific criteria for the rankings in this list:

The list primarily looked at the number of BCS bowl appearances, number of NCAA championship wins, and average attendance at home games. It also took factors such as BCS bowl game wins, number of alumni in the NFL, and student survey responses into consideration.

I'm calling BS.

As much as I hate Alabama, and truly hope Clemson waxes their ass, I don't see how they wind up where they do, and some of those others are above the Vols. Just another list made by a group with no idea what they're doing.

And I agree...selective acceptance on National Championships.

Not even gonna click on it. Just another idiotic and pointless piece of sports "journalism".

Alabama should have been ahead of Florida for sure. Looking at what they supposedly went by, Tennessee should have been at least #11.

Using BCS appearances as a measure for "all time" doesn't make a lot of sense. Florida shouldn't be number 3, since they were mediocre before the Spurrier era, and Miami shouldn't be in the top 10, since they were bottom feeders before the 1980s.

Notre Dame, as much as I can't stand them, should be in the top 10, and Alabama should be at least 2, if not 1.

If you look at the backgrounds, the writer is a Syracuse grad who lives in NY. The "analysis team" is based in Pittsburgh. None of them look old enough to know much about anything having historical perspective and certainly not about football. Their list and order on the list pretty well back that up. Without going very heavy on the recency effect, there's no way FL gets to #3.
