UT has offered Memphis White Station 5-9 PG Chris Chiozza. He's quick, good scorer, been compared to Missouri's Phil Pressey

4-star on Rivals.

"The 5-foot-10 point guard is guaranteed to draw comparisons to Missouri guard Phil Pressey because of his size and style of play. Chiozza is extremely fast with the ball in his hands, running the break as well as any point guard in the country.

“He changes directions; you can't keep him out of the paint,” Hurd said. “He can score, but he doesn't look to score first option.”

Chiozza is a catalyst for Team Thad's fast-paced offense, but he has also improved his ability to consistently knock down shots from the perimeter."

This is exactly the type player we have been missing. A ball-handler who can break the press with speed, get to the paint, get to the FT line, get the ball to his teammates in position to make plays, etc.

Please accept our offer we could use a point guard that can shoot and has the quickness of this player.

The 2014 class will be good if we have a decent year this year. Chiozza, Haas, Cofer would be a really good class. Throw in one of the L's and it's great.

Chiozza was discussed on Gary Parrish show tonight. USC also offered.

I am glad to see that we offered and will be interesting to see what Pastner does. They have Pookie Powell coming in this year, and he is an undersized PG as well. Not sure if Pastner was to take them in consecutive years.

If kids were smart, they would not play for Frank Haith. Wasting talent.

From what I understand, he probably won't be offered at Memphis. Will have Powell and possibly Dre Mathieu (visiting this week, I think) at the 1 next season. Powell will be a sophomore and Mathieu would be a senior. There are a few other PGs they're looking at for '14. Not sure why they haven't shown interest in Chiozza.

Powell is 6'0" to 6'1", Mathieu is 5'9". Chiozza is 5'8"-5'9".
