I got the chance to talk to Coach Campbell shortly before practices started. Obviously, he's thrilled Hudson pulled out of the draft and returned. He believes Weddle gives them a legitimate 2nd threat. They have some new guys in the frontcourt that they're counting on to contribute. Coach Campbell certainly thinks the Skyhawks can make a run in the OVC. Interesting fact: A couple of years ago, ESPN did a survey of D-I basketball recruiting budgets. UT-Martin was last. Now, they are using the buzz created by Hudson to get their name out there.

Should be fun for a while, but Tennessee should pull away without much problem.

There's some stiff competition in the upcoming tournament, but at this point I feel like Tennessee can play with any team in the country.

I'd be very surprised if they get out of Orlando unscathed.

i think that is the consensus. these kids definitely play well together and they will grow as the season progresses. we have the ability to beat anybody, the question is can we do it?

I would love to win one of these early-season tournaments. Winning the preseason NIT gave the '06 Gators a ton of momentum and confidence. Maybe we can get it done in Orlando.

Is sports south different than FOX sports south...that's probably a really dumb question just wondering...I live in Charleston SC and fox sports south says they are showing a ATL hawks game:bad:

Probably in the Old Spice Classic, I don't know who yet, but it will be a rough tournament.

Yeah our first matchup is Siena, I think they return everyone from a team that spanked Vanderbilt in the NCAA tournament...that'll be a tough one. Then if we win we'll probably play Georgetown obviously a very tough matchup...then possibily Michigan State. That's is one tough preseason tournament, I was very impressed by the field they have when I was looking at it the other day.

It'll go a long way to helping our boys later on though...I'm just not sure they're ready for that kind of schdedule yet. But the way they looked against UTC who knows? It would be very nice to win at least our first game though.

It's gonna be a tough one for us, but I'll bet the other guys aren't saying 'boy, I hope we get to play TN.'
