UT-FL- Gut Feelings

These are just my gut feelings about this game:

1) There will be an asterisk put next to this game by the national sports people because of the hurricane if UT wins handily (28-7 type of score). The national sports people will say "The Gators did not get to practice, players are suspended, blah, blah, blah" The Vols will get no credit for winning.

2) If the Gators win this game Butch will get roasted for the same reasons that the Gators get a pass for losing (Gators did not practice, players suspended, blah, blah). The roasting might be deserved, we will have to wait and see how the "Coaching" aspect of the game goes.

3) QD will get every snap this game. We need consistency and JG looked, and was inconsistent last week versus an inferior opponent (Not knocking JG I wanted him to win the starting job outright this spring so we could have him 3 years or more. He also fits the offensive style better).

4) QD will throw at least 1 pick this week. He has tried to fit the ball into triple coverage during the GT game too many times and last week threw it straight to the ISU player in the end zone.

5) UT will out rush FL this week. Kelly gets over 100 yards.

6) The Vols defense comes with a vengeance, there will be blitzes from everywhere. The D holds the Gators rushing to under 100 yards and passing under 175 yards.

With all of this said I feel the Vols win a low scoring game 23-20.

What are your "gut feelings" on this game.

brain says we will win

gut says we lose and the fanbase is gonna turn on Butch like a pack of wild dogs on a wounded animal

sticking with the brain for now. gut has been unreliable lately.

I think we should win the game. But it’s Florida and it’s in Gainesville, a place we’ve only won a couple times in my lifetime, so all bets are off.

I’d love to win both, but I almost think that UGA game is the more important of the two.

I could see them playing an emotional game and doing everything they can to bring the area a win. Wouldn't surprise me.

Don't think the Gators will score 20 without a defensive TD. We lose if QD turns it over 2 or more times.

Yeah, I didn't give it as a certain. I could just see them playing focused as one of the options.
It will most likely affect them one way or the other, we'll see which.

This is VolNation, there will always be an asterisk.

I agree with VolunteerHillbilly, my head says we win, but I'm never comfortable playing Florida. I can always see a loss, especially in BHG.

I'm going with Tennessee wins. I think that Florida has to much adversity to overcome.

The wild dogs thing is gonna happen after every loss.

At this point it’s become socially encouraged to pile on Butch, both locally and nationally (mainly because of the stupid crap he says sometimes). More so than any coach I can remember, ever. Especially for a guy who just beat his two main division rivals last year for the first time in ages, and is one of only 12 P5 schools to have won 20 games since 2015. This program was almost flatlined when he took over. Now we’re winning again. Roster is improving every year. Just need to take that next step and stop losing to little sisters from Nashville.

Yes. Since UGA does not play Bama or LSU, I think you're right.

Gut says we eek out a close win after Florida jumps out to an early lead, due to them coming out ultra fired up but undisciplined. Vols will own the second half in the yardage category.

My gut says UF players will cramp, and flop thus delaying the game's rhythm regardless of temperature, humidity, etc IF they are losing momentum or losing the scoreboard.

Got 'em both last year and still managed to miss Atlanta. Crazy.

I love ya Hoss but please don't blaspheme. No game is more important than Florida. Losing to those lizards leaves a sour taste in my mouth all year.

I hate Freak. I hate them so much. It's a hate that isn't normal or healthy but it's there and it eats me alive some years.

Head says UF wins cause Vegas says by 3 to 8 and the % win index has them as winning 62% of time.

Gut says we upset them.

My gut is scared of this game. They have no offense, but our defense is so weak. I hope I'm wrong.
