UT fans showed their true colors....

Every year, the week of the game, the media will keep playing that video over and over, getting UF players and coaches all hyped up. Richt must have been smoking something when he told all those players to go on the field. They would have won that day anyway.

Florida needs no motivation to get up for the Georgia game. Florida and Georgia hate each other like Tennessee and Alabama. When you are good and focused, you really don't need motivation anyway.

Surely there must have been something that happened in the last decade that we could use for motivation.

No one is mentioning (ok- I breezed through the post and didn't read the article- call me brash- call me unprepared- call me coach) is that Bruce Pearl was on the Shiite muslim list for decades due to his turning in Illinois on a recruiting issue when he was an assistant with Iowa. Dickie V trashed Pearl for a long time about that for 'breaking the code.' It has been only recently (this season maybe) that the bald-headed windbag has given BP any props at all.

This is the big time, kids. People cheat. If you can prove it, rat them out. If not, make sure the cameras aren't rolling when you accuse someone of cheating. (sorry coach).

Good stuff, Griff bu I'm getting a little tired of everybody using the UGA example to show Meyer's ruthlessness. Sure, Meyer got revenge this year with a significantly better team but UF got beat in the '07 UGA game which kept them out of the SECC. Everybody mentions UF's '08 victory as revenge but seems to ignore the '07 loss in which the UGA celebration had the most effect.
Exactly. Florida beat LSU by a bigger margin than they did the Dawgs..........I suppose he had a mad on for Les Miles also!

"I don't remember Bruce Pearl or Pat Summitt needing to call any of their opponents' cheaters to fire up a crowd"

Puhhhleeeeze!!!! Bruce Pearl is a notorious loud mouth and grand stander that has got him plenty of trouble over his career. He's 10+ yrs older than Kiffin so has already had some of those tough lessons. Also, SEC basketball and women's in particular is totally different environment then the blood and guts emotions of SEC football particularly with a proud program like UT's that's been slipping for several years now.

Didn't Pearl do some whistle-blowing when he was at Iowa that hurt his career for awhile? Seems like I kind of remember a story to that effect.

Yes he is not very well liked for the stuff he pulled. But he was not listened to, just shows what faith the NCAA has in him.

Bottom Line, UT fans had Kiffin's back even if what he said may not have been the smartest thing
Yes we have his back of course but his dumbass needs to check his vocal spews...you haven't won a game yet dude, you didn't play and graduate here like your predecessor but still show respect this is more than a job, its life.

That wasn't fro Les. That beat down was because one of their defensive players(Rickey Jean-Francois) made some comments about taking Tebow out of the game.

I welcome the new change in attitude. Yes, Kiffin may have overstepped the line a little. But, we need that kind of fire around Knoxville. I love the shoot first ask questions later approach. Sept. can't get here soon enough.

So are you in favor of a new rule that only UT graduates and former players are allowed to coach and speak to the media?

Hell yes Vol fan's had Kiffin's back. While what he said may have not been correct, to say that he was not aware of this is asinine. Kiffin is too detail oriented and has a intricate plan to return Tennessee to glory. Some can see the plan comming together and are excited. while others are too ignorant and/or blinded by the past to see it.

I think there is a much better way to phrase it. Perhaps, "UT fans appreciated his willingness or readiness to defend his recruit".

Lost in all the hoopla is the missing info. You have to wonder what Meyer was telling Nu'Keese...how many times he called during the visit...what he may have shared with Richardson about his opinions on the Vol staff. Nobody has really mentioned that. Maybe Urban was dragging our program through the mud.

Did Lane have to use the word "cheat"? Probably not. I am I pleased that he had the cojones to address the situation anyway? You bet.

You also have to consider the recent history for the context of the situation. Fans have been so hungry for something besides "watching film" and "working like heck" that the proactive approach is resonating with the VN.

Lex how dare you hint that there may be two sides to a story...

Agree with you though. I think this is just the tip of the iceberg. We may know now who CLK was speaking of when he was saying how cutthroat the coaches were in the recruiting process in the SEC....

I disagree. Sorry... This whole deal is little more than a melting cube of ice in my sweet tea glass...

I'm just saying there is more to the story I would almost guarantee...

Probably is. But I'd just as soon not hear more of this particular storyline.

Maybe in a future episode Lane will stick it to Saban... and be right about it. That's a show I'd like to see.

I hope he goes after them all...I personally love the theater.
