Haha. I would love to see the look on your face if you walked into a meeting room with Chavis, were given a playbook, and started breaking down film with him.

yea what govols said... ive played high school football, which im sure is no where near college football, and it takes a while to sort of catch on to everything so i dont blame the new guys at all for not picking up on the offense by the 3rd game of the season, but anyone who watches the game can see that the playbook seems a little simple, i mean how hard can it be picking up on 7 plays... but i do believe that the coaches can make an exception for the newcomers if they are as talented as some of the ones we have and get Ainge to give them a specific route to run in the huddle, theres ways around this so i really dont buy into the "he doesnt get it yet" theory because if they really think the guy can play they can find a way for the guy to get the ball... and then one wonders how Denarius Moore picked it up so fast, or Erik Ainge his freshman year, or Lennon Creer, if it is so hard to "get it" then how does a freshman QB come in and start right away and complete 55% of his passes, throw for nearly 1500 yards and 7 tds, beat Florida, Georgia, Alabama and play for the SECCG in the same season all while having to "get it"... ill tell u how because they simplified the playbook for him, and to think that the WR position is no where near as difficult as the QB position... point is that there are ways to get the best players on the field whether they "get it" or not... you cant tell me that Ainge and Schaeffer were able to "get it" as true freshmen
I think it is more likely that Chris Walker took his spot at DE, so they moved Mathis over to DT (for now anyway). That evens out some talent on the D-line and still gets him a few reps in the game if they can.
he is 5th on the depth chart at DT, and i guess he would be 4th at the LE position. so i dont think he will see a lot of playing time either way. he would be most effective at DT in 3rd and long obvious pass rush situations.Doubt it, but if it's true then when he is in they will run right at him. 6'2 255lb DT? Fulmer would be crazy to put him there in the biggest game so far.

I think Mapu came in around 27-275. Still small for a DT though. The difference between Mapu and Mathis is that Mapu was on the line all through high school. Mathis played LB most of the time. HV would know for sure though.
i dont even know man. i noticed it too. this great recruiting class is developing slow (exception of berry), but i guess that should be expected. some say patience is a virtue. breakout next year?? 09??Why isnt Donald on that depth chart at all.. is he gonna get a redshirt year. even Savion Frazior is ahead of him!!!!![]()
