UT contacts Kippy Brown

Not my first choice, but it would be hard to argue with bringing him in.

Well, you can't argue with this move. I don't know if Chris Hatcher is the right pick anyway (man GA..you and Justin started something there....)....but I just don't see us going that far outside the family. I guess we'll have to wait and see what KB has to say...

If we got KB I would be satisfied. I think that could be a good move for us. UT could do better but it would not be a bad move by any means.

Hatcher would need to be introduced to most Vol donors.

Kippy is already in their (our) hearts. If KB wants it, he should get it. He's been away for a while, so he'll bring new thinking to the program. He's the perfect guy to bridge old Tennessee with the new world that so many seem to want. You'll love this guy's personality. He was enormously popular when he was on the Hill. Add the charisma of Trooper to what may be an even better offensive mind than Cutcliffe's (although I'll hold on that final assessment until after we've seen him at UT for a bit more as OC), and that's Kippy.

Morever, Kippy is not just a great recruiter. He can develop world class skilled players (meaning 5* recruits or Pro Bowlers as either applies) with the best!

Actually I've read that Kippy's dislike of recruiting is one reason why he wanted to go to the NFL.

Actually, to the best of my memory, he was a very good recruiter in Memphis since he played at MemphisState, but he may have lost most of his contacts by now.

kippy has always coached receivers from what I've read of his bio. i wonder who they bring in to coach the QB's?

You could get this much from wikipedia alone:
Head Coach
Running Backs Coach
Wide Receivers Coach
Offensive Coordinator
Assistant Head Coach

Kippy Brown - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

But world class WR's are his specialty... no doubt about that.

A former UT player said on Volquest that Kippy is moving back to Knoxville regardless of if he is on the staff or not. He also said that he might not necessarily be the OC, but possibly just the WR coach.

That would be coup as that's the job we couldn't get him to take in 2005.
