Looking forward and assuming/hoping/praying they win out this is an encouraging way of looking at this season as being a great success. Especially despite all of the heartbreaking losses.....

Winning out might be a tall order. I've pretty much thought 7-5 is more realistic for a few weeks now. Kentucky and Missouri on the road will be tough. If they do pull off 8-4 with the close losses they've had against the quality of opposition, I'd say that's a very good launching point for next year.

If Butch finishes 9-4 with a 5-3 record in conference play, he'll have gotten us as far as James Franklin got Vanderbilt in two seasons. But yes, it would technically be progress.

Progress? Folks, 8-4 this year is success. That's a two win improvement (regular season) over the prior year and the first eight win regular season since 2007.

It would serve as a great launching point for what I believe will be a 9 or 10 win 2016. After our performance yesterday, is there a game on next year's schedule that we can't win? Nope.

With only 1 win worth a damn. That's not progress. We wasted a huge opportunity this year to fill the vacuum in the East. Now we will see if a well coached and overachieving UF does so.

1 win worth a damn? This confuses me. I thought every win mattered...

Kentucky is definitely my biggest concern moving forward. They are another team that is better than their record might indicate. They are good enough to beat us if we play poorly and the game is in Lexington.

I've been worried about Mizzou all season. I keep expecting them to get better and their defense has played great all season, but their offense has never really clicked. Tough playing in Columbia in November, but I feel like we should win that game. They haven't put up more than 13 points against an SEC opponent all year. They scored 13 against UK, 10 against South Carolina, 6 against UGA, and 3 against Vandy. Those are just some ugly numbers right there and South Carolina's defense isn't even that good.

Actually, outside of Kentucky, I'm most worried about Vanderbilt at this point. Vanderbilt always seems to overachieve against us. Their offense has struggled, but their defense is extremely good. If our offense goes cold, we could struggle with them. They have played almost every team close this season.

Considering how accustomed we've become at searching any and all tea leaves to find hidden wins and success, it's amazing at how we completely ignore the fact that the SEC East is atrocious this year.

Our remaining conference opponents have a combined record of 5-14. This ain't your daddy's SEC. It's not even you slightly older cousin's SEC.

IMG Academy in Bradenton, FL, would have 2 or 3 SEC wins this season if they were in the East

False. There has never been a high school team in the history of high school sports that would beat a division 1 football team even the s***** ones. This is just absurd

Bowling Green IS a quality win! That BG team would beat everyone on our remaining schedule, and it probably wouldn't be close.

Ever hear of exaggeration for effect.

The point is that half of the SEC East is homecoming material.

Good grief... Franklin fell bass awkward into the most favorable schedule in the history of Vanderbilt football. He gets credit for taking advantage but that's it.

The negas just love citing surface numbers to make their flawed points.

How's this SEC schedule any different? 4 wins are automatic.

Exactly, which is why it's hard to understand why so many seem to be happy with Butch. 3-4 and 15-17 in what has been a terrible SECe during his tenure, and with Florida being terrible for his first two years.

The "we're only gonna get better" crowd fails to understand that the rest of the SEC will get better too. Specifically, your Gators are about to get ridiculously good again.

This will be the last season where people will question the talent at the skill positions at Florida.

The cavalry is coming.

In Mac's words; "order is being restored." What are your thoughts on UF-UGA, a game that will likely decide the East, although I think Auburn may beat UGA later in the year.

I like Florida.

I can see where Georgia pounds the ball and is successful. But, I don't think they do it well enough.

I like Florida's defense, QB, and coach better.

I think they are the difference.

The thing that scares me the most, is Georgia manages to show up best when Richt is under some heat.
