I think the '01 team was probably a better team, but it goes to show how much luck is involved with going undefeated.

Yeah, I feel that the 01 team was much better, but like GAVol it shows how much luck has to do with it.

The 98 defense was probably better, but the '01 offense was much better.

I said in a thread months ago that the 01 team was probably better than the 98 team because of how many weapons we had on the O.

Do I get a cookie? :)

Ya the 01 team was very good, but they just didn't have the luck they needed.

I wouldn't call our losses in 01 losses due to bad luck.

Giving Georgia the ball near midfield with that much time isn't bad luck.

A 2nd half collapse against LSU isn't bad luck.

How in the world do lose the SECCG, when you knock out the starting QB and other star players for LSU and still lose the game is a wonder to me.

Agreed....not really bad luck, they just picked the worst possible times for a meltdown. The 01 SECCG will haunt me forever.

You have a point, but they still didn't have the luck like they did in 98.(Stoerner fumble)

stoerner's fumble was caused by my favorite player from that team, billy ratliff. he guessed the snap count and pushed the offensive lineman backwards, stoerner tripped over him, and lost the ball. not all luck. if billy ratliff has his head down and has given up, that "lucky fumble" never happens.
