I do not see how Vandy can possibly be seeded higher than the Vols at this point just by winning one more league game. The overall profiles are not close (RPI, SOS, non-conference performance).

I agree completely. The 'dores can't point to nonconference wins over Texas and Memphis either.

And, although we split the head to head, their buzzerbeater over us can't compare to the way we hammered them in Knoxville.

They're a fine team, but they don't deserve a higher seed than we do.

Lunardi had Vandy as a 6-seed before their win tonight and the Vols as a 7-seed after beating Florida. Vandy lost to Furman, Appy State, and Wake Forest. Their biggest non-conference win was against Georgia Tech, who was 6-8 in the ACC before this week. I suppose I will root for Arkansas to upset Vandy this weekend.

I expect Arkansas to beat Vandy this weekend. The dores are playing very well right now, but I'm not sold on them. Foster and Byers are outstanding, but they're inconsistent.

If UK would have pulled it out on Sunday, we'd be poised the take the SEC 2-seed with a win and help from UF. Oh well. At least we get an extra winnable game.

i think we go into georgia and win this weekend, i won't say i think we will win the sec tourney, but i think we will make a good showing. we end up being a 5, a 6 at worst. if we can win the sec tourney we are easily the top 4 seed.

as for vandy, i think when the selection committee looks at them, they will put them where they belong, which is a 6 or 7, i cannot see any way that they end up with a better seed than us short of them winning the sec tournament.

Yeah, I suppose the committee will do better than one man updating his own bracket.

there are so many rules the committee has to follow that vandy may get an inflated seed just to make it work. one of those rules is against rematches which may force the vols to play way out west to avoid matchups with texas, memphis, ohio state, north carolina and florida in the second round.

vandy doesnt deserve a better seed at this point but there is a ways to go, and the bracket rules are a bit constricting.
