Spurrier didn't recruit him because he doesn't party like a rock star

That was one comment by one fan.

We have far worse representation if we hinge our fanbase on some of the comments here.

Say what you want about him not being offered by USCe, but the kid was offered by the likes of Florida, Florida State, LSU, Notre Dame and Stanford for what its worth.

If you watch his HS highlights, it's clear that he doesn't have a canon. But you can't put up the kind of stats that he did (even against Clowney and his HS - 5 TDs, 300+ yds) with a "water pistol" arm.. I would expect a lot of quick throws, screens, etc.

If he can be accurate on the short and intermediate throws, we're going to be a helluva lot better off than w/ Simms...

Yeah, Worley's arm looked pretty weak when he was handing the ball off on Saturday. Funny how they know this and he's yet to throw a pass.

Is Worley known for a weak arm? Is that why Spurier didn't offer?

Worley is an accurate Qb with a quick release and a knack for getting the ball out of his hands quickly. He is also very tall so he has good pocket vision.

I wouldn't say he has a laser rocket arm a la Bray or Manning though.

Accuracy is much more important than arm strength in cfb. And if you look up his HS record breaking stats you'll see he was pretty damn accurate. The biggest concern should be that he's a true freshman not his arm strength. But at the end of the day he can't possibly be any worse than Simms.

He does lack ideal arm strength but as long as he doesn't stare down his target and gets rid of the ball on time, he will be an upgrade over Simms. I'm not expecting him to be good but I do expect an upgrade.

I wouldn't put much stock into what they are saying. There was a knock on Bray about the same kinda thing. He had a weak arm. We have seen that was totally incorrect. Even if Worley cannot throw the deep routes. If he can hit the slants and middle TE we should be alright. I just hope he hits the guys with the T's on their helmets.

I never thought Clausen had a strong arm and he did pretty decent. He never lost to South Carolina.

If he is able to hit passes in 10-20 yard range at a decent rate I think we can run the ball if we maintain a balanced attack. The problem with Simms is he can't throw it good enough for us to maintain the balance. If Worley can, then we will be able to run the ball and mix in some play action and be pretty effective.

fans? I saw one fan make a comment no one even justified.

The article was also negative, and I live down here and get that this is USC fans general thoughts on the kid. I figured they are just rationalizing the bad call to not offer him.

Wanted to start the conversation so I posted this article here to see what VN thought.
