What's everyone think of the Team USA heading to London? I still wish they would have given Davis a spot. If he couldn't make it with his ankle by the time they got on the plane to head overseas they could have replaced him I think.

2012 TEAM USA Roster

Carmelo Anthony (F)
Kobe Bryant (G)
Lebron James (F)
Kevin Durant (F)
Blake Griffin (F)
Tyson Chandler (C)
James Harden (G)
Andre Iguodala (F)
Kevin Love (F)
Chris Paul (G)
Russell Westbrook (G)
Deron Williams (G)

Who is your starting five?

I would love to see how this starting five would do.

Kobe (PG)
Lebron (SG)
Durant (SF)
Carmelo (PF)
Griffin (C)

By the way, let's pretend that everyone was healthy and willing to play:

PG Chris Paul
SG Kobe Bryant
SF Kevin Durant
PF LeBron James
C Dwight Howard

PG Derrick Rose
SG Dwayne Wade
SF Carmelo Anthony
PF Blake Griffin
C Andrew Bynum

G Russell Westbrook or Rajon Rondo
F/C Kevin Love or Tyson Chandler

Dear God.

If we're staying true to position then I'd go

PG Paul
SG Bryant
SF James
PF Love
C Chandler

If not then move Lebron to the 4 and start Durant at the 3.

Replace Durant with Love.

Flip Lebron and Durant and this is where I'm at. Lebron is still not a perimeter guy.

The position label at this level of play is merely a formality between PG/SG/SF. Lebron will prolly bring the ball up more than Paul.

I have a hard time believing that... Lebron can play the point, but CP3 is the best in the world at it and it's pretty much not close. If CP3 is off the floor and Lebron is in, then I could see that but that's really the only way.

I expect them to play an up-tempo style and with so much talent on the floor, whoever the rebound goes to short Chandler, etc... will be the one pushing it across mid-court or throwing it over the top. I doubt Lebron/Durant/Kobe will be looking to slowly hand it over to the point in transition unless, which very well may be their plan, Paul or whoever is at point will automatically move into transition after shots.

I imagine the teams that they face will try to sag back when shots are taken, but like that will matter if even 2v1 against Paul/Lebron/Durant... you name it. Only way this team will struggle is if they play uninspired ball and settle for 20' jump shots. If they drive and live in transition, it will be laughable.

Who cares what the lineup is small or if they play out of position? They're still gonna be taking names and win the gold!

This team with an acting like an adult Dwight and/or Bynum plus everybody they'd want healthy... would be an awesome game.
