Urban Meyer, disciplinarian, strikes again

I must learn to hold my tongue in threads like this....some other time.

1. With the LaMarcus Coker situation such as it is, I find it particularly difficult to comment on what any other head coach does in regards to their disciplinary actions.
2. I am all for second and third chances for everybody. As much as I despise people who joyfully ride around in tow trucks and take people's automobiles and hold them for ransom, I cannot fault anyone for losing their temper and judgement in the situation. This to me is a impulse control problem, but it should not be a felony.
3. We would all be happy with getting to the SECCG. Hell, I would throw a party and invite the nation. However, this whole argument revolving around hoping that athletes from other teams are suspended to give us a better shot does look a little desperate.
4. Our head coach handles discipline just as inconsistently. Ask Raymond Henderson. Not a knock on Phil. As I have had time to reflect on my past feelings with these issues, I have determined that handling them on a case by case basis (rather than hard and fast rules) is the fairest for the athletes involved. It is hard enough to keep a kid in school and going to class. The coaches cannot baby sit these players. Were I a head coach, this is the part of the job I would dread the most.
5. There is no need to wish ill on Urban Meyer. If he is a weasel, success will be short lived. That, I am coming to realize with age, is the nature of the universe. The wheels will eventually come off in such a situation. Wishing the wheels to come off seems like a short cut. I prefer to field a team that will beat the hell out of him like I expect LSU to do this weekend.

Yeah so do i. The only problem is if by some act of god phil ever has a team that would actually beat meyer's. He would get up by a touchdown or two then call off the dogs. No i'am afraid this is nothing more than a pipe dream with this current staff unforunately.

Sounds to me like the cops were put between a rock and a hard place or someone was trying to make a name for themselves. If they don't arrest...it will be the old special treatment argument. Which could cause them problems down the road. Sure there seems to been enough probable cause to arrest but personally...he did return and the owner didn't want to press charges...after making a detailed report of the facts.....I would of let him walk and left it up to a DA or Grand Jury to decide if charges were warranted! The keys again being....he did return and the owner doesn't wish prosecution. Worst case.......trespassing!

gator radio is so hypocritical down here. they blasted fulmer for allowing coker for coming back and cried that UT has no discipline integrity, blah!, blah!, blah!
now, of course, when it's one of their's, now they justify everything about it and say, "urban has to play him for LSU and let him play, but just take his leadership status away.
JOINER WAS NOT A LEADER IN THE FIRST PLACE....HE WAS JUST THE ONLY UPPERCLASSMAN URBAN HAS. Hypocritville - alachua county, florida

If the way the season is going for you is getting you all disgruntled, maybe a shift in rooting interests would be a good thing. Maybe LSU or USC? They're both undefeated...

I would like to apologize for being the only poster at Volnation.com who is disgruntled at the way the Vols' season is going. (sarcasim off)

.

Lets keep the facts straight. Joiner plays FS and Wright plays SS. So they will go with somebody else there. Joiner will miss the LSU game unless they can get the local barney five to drop or reduce the felony to a lesser crime. So we will see if Urban has the power to get police to drop it. I think it will not happen until next week so Joiner will miss the game. It does not really matter either way UF loses big with or without him.

Go Vols beat those dawgs:)

My fault. Kyle Jackson lost his job to Major.
