Today’s results should leave the Vols with a chance to make a significant leap in the polls. Off the top of my head higher ranked Texas , Texas A&M, Auburn , Mississippi St, Oklahoma & UCF all went down .

Obviously the Vols have a huge challenge next week @ UGA who looked to shake off the rust today in dismantling Auburn but I am guessing the Vols should move into the top 15 tomorrow . This will set up a big time matchup and a big time opportunity for the Vols to put the CFB world on notice next Saturday. This early in the season polls still don’t mean a lot because of you keep winning the rest will take care of itself in spite of polls although rising in the rankings is validation that CJP has things moving in the right direction . Having said that what does VN project the new ranking to be tomorrow ?

I have watched a lot of the games this year. Alabama, Florida, and Georgia are the only teams that I have watched that look significantly better that the Vols (as usual) .

So I say we are 4th.

NegaVOL, TN would curb stomp those 3 PLUS Clemson wouldn’t stand a chance . VOLS#1

Georgia’s D is salty, and Mullen has Trask looking like Tom Brady in his prime

I can’t say that they look significantly better. We have a common opponent with Alabama, and we had similar performances. They were better, but I wouldn’t say it’s a significant margin. Texas A&M struggled with Vandy last week. They’re not good, so today’s game didn’t mean much. I’m not high on Auburn either. They beat Kentucky by double digits last week, but the game was closer than the final score indicates. I can’t draw any conclusions about Georgia based on what they did today aside from the fact that their defense is savage. Florida’s offense is on fire, but their defense has been mediocre at best. There’s a clear top four today, and we’re there.

Polls are meaningless at this point and little more than a popularity contest.
