Draft Signing Deadline: Florida, Vandy, Oklahoma State Have Big Days

Kendall Rogers has a snippet about Tennessee in his draft analysis report. One of four schools that had a commit and a returning player unsigned at the draft deadline.

"The Volunteers got a good one in Missouri righthanded pitcher and transfer Seth Halvorsen. Halvorsen didn’t have great numbers in 2021, but possesses a huge arm with a slider that has potential. He was a 19th round pick to the Phillies. Meanwhile, righthanded pitcher Chase Burns is one of the top high school prospects not to sign and would’ve been drafted much higher if he was deemed signable. Burns was ranked No. 42 overall by PBR and has a fastball in the mid-to-upper 90s."

Just wanted to give a quick shout out to @TN_gal for this thread. It's been awesome to follow the draft, signings, and related baseball activity all in one place. Especially for posters who live mainly in the recruiting forum, this has been a welcome 'one stop shop' for UT baseball. Thanks again!

Thanks so much. ALS is really crappy and awareness and research are key to finding a cure. It probably won't save my life but it may save the life of someone we know #f#^k ALS

@td23, thought of you when I came across the work described at the link below. This is some recent research conducted, in part, right here at UT looking into the mechanism of ALS onset. As always, wishing the best for you and your family.

BOOM!!!!

Looks like several of our draft guys are off and running. I have been able to follow Spence and Ferguson who are both doing well so far.

Pavalony is getting started with FCL Orioles. He is off to a little bit of a slow start.

Hunley made his pro debut yesterday with the FCL Rays. Pitched 1 inn. 0H, 0R, 2K and a groundout.

Don’t believe Dallas is playing due to is innings during college season. Not sure on Rucker.

Spence honestly got drafted into a great situation all things considered. The Cubs just sold practically all of their important pieces, and are now in the midst of a complete rebuild. Prospects are going to get quite a bit of opportunity to make a statement and be a part of that next generation.
