I went out for dinner and was hit by a hit and run driver....while I was sitting and waiting to turn! That was his first mistake. The second was trying to outrun my Lexus in a mini-van. I chased that mo-fo down the interstate in the rain and got him. At least his tags. Just gave the cops my report and they are on it.

I'd give anything to hear the 911 call as I raced down the road! I still can't believe they didn't tell me to stop the chase.
I've finished my first double and I'm having another.

Should have run him down and cut off his testes...

(Sorry, had a bad day and feel like being a little violent. Saves me from drinking tonight...)

It was crazy. Tons of cars everywhere, drizzling rain, trying to talk to 911.

Not trying to be a jerk, but you tied up 911 for that?

Other than that, good job.

Racing down the freeway at 90+ mph in the rain chasing the criminals who just hit my car and ran sure seemed like an emergency. Want a kicker? When I tried to call back the Roswell Police dept on the number that directory assistance (and a hard copy phone book) gave me, it was a non working number. I had to call 911 back so they could come meet me.

Wow, there is certainly a kink in the system.

I hate to tell you, but the cops will do NOTHING!

You should have stayed on them until the cops found you stilll chasing them.

I was rear-ended at a red light by a drunk driver. My car was damaged too severely to drive much less give chase. I got out, walked back, and asked the guy what the hell his problem was. That's when I realized he was trashed drunk. He threw it in reverse, backed up and took off. Naturally his car (25 year old land barge) was barely damaged.

I gave them his tag number, his physical description, the whole nine yards. Nothing ever happened. Everytime I called I was told, "they were still investigating the incident". :whistling:

I told them to give me the guy's address, and I would handle it on my own. That was "against policy" was all they would give me.

The best advice I can give you. Call your insurance company, pay your deductible, get your car fixed, and be glad you weren't hurt.

Well why didn't you say this earlier? You can relax now, knowing they had a proper driver's license, registration, and insurance.

They were probably just rushing home to get all of their insurance info so they could call State Farm to come take care of everything.

LOL It was 400 headed South from Holcomb Bridge.

I talked to the Hit-and-run investigator today and didn't get a lot of hope. When I told her I was going to frequently check out the spot where it happened, she told me to go for it and call her if I came up with anything!

Of course I'm sure the a-hole didn't have insurance or a green card anyway.

This was the second time in my life that I was hit by a runner. The first time I was in such shock that by the time I thought about chasing, it was too late. Didn't have that problem last night. Adrenaline took over.

Of course at some point it occurred to me that if they pulled over that I might be screwed. As far as I could tell there were at least 4 ppl in the van. I'm a big guy but I'm not Kimbo Slice (or the dude that kicked his butt)!
